The new Castlevania DLC is legitimately another 40+ hours of content! The Alucart Sworb + Clockwork set + Sonic Dash + Darkasso combo totally breaks the game in the best possible way (max out 15 weapons + 20 passives = invulnerable, insanely fast movement, and unable to see anything on the screen). If someone is unable to buy Vampire Survivors, there's HoloCure. It's _almost_ in the same vein but the distance between each Steam achievement is just a tad too far apart to have the exact same dopamine effect as Vampire Survivors but HoloCure is a free game.

When I play a game, I want to play the full game. I don't want to skip any part, especially not a boss battle. Having maybe 25 hidden riddles would be one thing, but not 240+. That's absolutely ridiculous. What were the developers thinking? Now, if finding all the riddles just meant I'd receive a trophy, then I absolutely would skip it.

If you do another one of these, definitely add Left 4 Dead 2, it's still in the top 100 played games on Steam which is pretty good for a 15 year old game. Only $10 USD (even less when on sale, I've seen it go for a dollar or two) infinitely replayable with how many mods are on the workshop for campaigns and maps, great game all-around.

@HazzMatt19 the GOG version works. They have a patch, apparently, and i think Steam works now after its 2024 release. I also bought it for $2 from origin prior to the newest steam release and the only way to play was to cap my pc at 4 cores, fairly easy and possible but annoying. But it works on Steam now. There are also a couple mods out there!

Arkham Knight was the first Batman game I got on PS5. Unfortunately about an hour in I was tired of and frustrated with the Batmobile gameplay and deleted it. Picked up Arkham Asylum a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it WAY more. I don't know if I can put myself through Arkham Knight again.

Balatro, Batman: Arkham Knight, Black Mesa, Fallout: New avegas, The Saboteur, DOOM, Metro: Redux, Inscryption, Okami, and Stardew Valley are games I'm always happy to have played. Whether it is story or gameplay or both, they were amazing then and still are today.

Highly recommend a 3D platformer/Metroidvania called Pseudoregalia. It's PC only, and it's only $5 iirc. As platformer fan, I cant recommend it any higher, the aesthetics are right out of a PS1 videogame, but the gameplay is comparable to Super Mario Oddyssey in a way that allows you to link up all the abilities you unlock, while progressing through the game, to overcome platforming challenges as you see fit. It's non linear, so it can be a little confusing at times, but it's one of the things that makes it unique. You dont need to find all abilities to complete the game, so it can be beat somewhere between 4 and 10 hours, depending on your completion rate 👍🏽

Picked up AC Syndicate for £6. It had a free 4K@60fps update for Next Gen. for 50+ hrs of AC 'fun'. London is a beautiful, vibrant and interesting City to walk around. The stealth is pure AC, easily able to satisfy that hunter/killer 'itch'. Also there are plenty of side missions to do and lots of various collectables to encourage exploration. It is one of the best, underrated AC games that needs more love. Easily 8.5/10 Peace All

I enjoyed the games listed here that I have played, and there’s about 4 games mentioned that I do want to get around to (New Vegas probably being at the top). One game that I got on the cheap and really enjoyed that wasn’t mentioned here was Death’s Door. The 2.5D Legend of Zelda-type explorer has a quirky, if somber story; funny and likable characters (Pothead is a standout), rather intuitive gameplay, and it’s challenging without being crazy difficult. It gives a good 20+ hours of fun (it was about $10 when I picked it up).

I almost always get my steam keys from places like G2A, CDKEYS, Eneba, Kinguin, Fanatical, etc. I thing I've probably only ever paid full price for maybe 5 games out of the 1400 or so I have now.

A pretty cheap, fun and different game I rarely see mentioned is Tails of Iron ! Side-scroller adventure with a pretty art style and sometimes challenging combat, all narrated by Doug Cockle. Its sequel (or 'squeakuel', if you will) comes out next month too !

Yakuza 0 was the first yakuza game I played, recommending it as the entry point is a right move i will always say played 0 first. It's also got probably the best combat and story out of all of them imo

RE7 did a little bit more than just a change in perspective 😅 but yeah, it’s for sure a must play and the game which single-handedly made me addicted to the RE series. The gameplay as well as the trophy lists (if you’re going for Platinum) are some of the best you’ll ever find.

@ For me, RE7 was the first game in the Resident Evil series that I really engaged with. At almost 31 years old and with an older brother, I never really had much exposure to the horror genre (whether games or movies) during my childhood, even though I was of an appropriate age. This is why I never played the older RE entries back then. However, RE7 was so good that it hooked me instantly, and since then, I’ve played and platinumed every entry in the series (RE7, RE2 Remake, RE3 Remake, RE8, and RE4 Remake). I can hardly wait for the next installment-whether it’s another remake or RE9. What’s sad, though, is that there seem to have been so much feedback about RE7 being too scary that Capcom took it into account for subsequent games, dialing back the horror factor-not just for RE8 (which basically feels like it was built on a blueprint of RE4 and, in my opinion, lacks originality) but potentially for future entries as well.

@@johnlawful2272 I agree with you and hope that Capcom won’t shy away from making future entries as scary as RE7-regardless of the perspective. In my opinion, RE2 Remake also ranked very high in terms of horror, but RE3 Remake, RE8, and RE4 Remake leaned a bit too much into action for my taste. Of course, this is highly subjective, but I find Jack in the early part of RE7 scarier than Mr. X and Nemesis combined in the remakes. Unfortunately, his presence is relatively short-lived once you know what to do.

@8ogl resident evil 4 started the action part of it but 3 started the fast pace also outlast and the dlc was good

Risk of rain 2 without dlc often goes on sale for $7 or $8. With all the rogue like mechanics and all the characters you can get so many hours out of this game!
