Chris. Hi. I have you Fiddle Handbook from 10 years ago or so, and the "Exploring" Folk and Jazz books too. Great stuff and it's fun for me to see you live. Thanks for this, and for the Amazing Grace vid. Cann't wait to get back to the neighborhood jam scene. Terry - StringWizards - Chicago

Hi Terence. Good to hear from you, and nice to hear that you're enjoying the books and videos. Hopefully you'll be able to use some of these licks when you eventually get back to playing!

@@TheFiddleChannel It's a good thing, being shut in when you have a house full of string instruments. I'm beginning to try to consolidate some concepts in my head and on to my fingers if that makes sense. I am equally at home w/ a banjo or guitar, but rarely saw crossover the concepts until now and more focus on blues pentatonic stuff. Hey can I ask if you have score you put on to paper for your Amazing Grace? Or some tips or pages to focus more on in your Expor Jazz book. I admire guys like you. I can play, but I often don't know what I'm doing. I think if I had the score, I could dis-agregate melody from riffs and then try to identify your thinking in each. Anyway. Thanks, Chris. Terry
@TheFiddleChannel4 жыл бұрын
@@tmilesstringwizards2445 Hi Terrance. All the solo here was improvised, so there's no score. The best way to learn something from it is just to pick out a few licks and learn them, and try and understand how they relate to the chords or the melody. Then you can use them anywhere and everywhere. From the fiddle handbook, you need to really get to grips with the blues scales, finger patterns and licks, then solos like I did here will just come pouring out!

@@TheFiddleChannel Thanks, Chris. I'm already on it...and thanks for having all this out there. I just thought I'd check. A friend who is a doctor by day and a blue guitar player too, but me on to Transcribe! over Amazing Slow Downer. Thought I'd pass that along, if you hadn't seen it. It is a mobile ap, but just use the desktop version, it has much better control features. Best of luck to you too.
