Wow a Christmas sweater in August - that's dedication. I am just not ready for Christmas card making yet but I love all your ideas and I am more of a create a bunch and send out - I don't really create with a certain person in mind. I love that Harry Potter card - my son and husband and I are big Harry Potter fans too!!

I love making Christmas cards (well, cards in general to be honest!) and ideally make them ahead, at my leisure (note: this is the first year that "ideally" happened. It took a pandemic!). So mostly I just make cards and then decide who to give them to - however, there are certain people that do get a "made just for YOU" card ... they usually happen when the others are done and in the mail!

I used to make cards with specific people in kind but I would overthink it or make 5 for one friend and none that were right for certain other people. So now I mostly mass produce my cards. It saves some stress. But the personalization is a really nice touch.

I personalize most of my cards. For instance, I'm making a birthday card for my nephew this week, and since he just got a new car, it will be a car-themed card. For Christmas, I still personalize a bit, but they are somewhat more generic. The cards will all be similar, but not exactly the same. I may use a color that person likes or an image that is meaningful to them. For instance, some of my nephews like to hunt, so deer images will be good for them, and my oldest niece is a veterinarian who specialized in cats, so her card will have one or more cats. My oldest sister likes pink, so even though pink is my least favorite color, her card will most likely be pink.

I often think of the person. One friend I need to make a card for gardens and loves brilliant colors and flowers, so I’ll make a bright floral card. She sews and I have a stamp set with faux, messy stitching too - maybe for the envelope. Unused vintage postage stamps can be found on Etsy and elsewhere that fit a person too. That friend was a nurse, so 4 cent nurse stamps will go on the envelope; flower stamps will make up the price difference.

I send out 300 - 400 Christmas cards each year. These are all to friends and relatives. I may make 2 cards that are nearly the same, but for the most part, every card is different. While addressing the cards, I choose a card especially for that person. I have never made cards with the recipient’s name on it, but I love your idea and I’m going to include a few names this year! Sounds like creative fun!! TFS

I LOVE making Christmas cards! I don't really make them with a certain person in mind, but when I get ready to send them out I do pick certain ones for certain people. It's usually the decision of will this person like a more traditional card with Christmas colors and sentiments or are they happy to get a hot pink and lime green card that says something funny. :-D (p/s thanks for donning the Christmas sweater in the heat, it made me giggle!)

I tend to cater to a person. Tags are more general: I create tags a pile at a time and keep them in our wrapping box. My goal for cards is to create a small pile and donate (re-gift) the box of commercial cards taking up space where my craft boxes should be stored.

I use clear page protectors with a piece of cardstock to give it a little rigidity. The page protectors can be bought in packages of 25 or more and are not terribly expensive.
