I wish I could get motivated I've been feeling under the weather stressed and a bit emotional...Lost my job due to the company closing and I could use some tips on how to get motivated when you are feeling sad or emotional.😔 I just feel very overwhelmed with my situation and with the Corona Virus going on...I hope it gets resolved. My husband still has his job I'm just not used to being at home but want to get it organized now that I'm able too.🙂🙃
@marysusa69854 жыл бұрын
@@paolasoltero53 Sorry about your job. Every time I have moved on from a job it always ends up being better in the long run, as I hope it will be for you. As for motivating myself, I find focusing on one small job at a time, cleaning a drawer or just clearing a counter and letting that be enough for the moment feels so good. I used to think I had to clean the whole house at once and that always made it so hard to start and filled me with dread. I also enjoy setting at timer to see how much I can get done, it makes it a little fun game. You would be surprised how much you can get done in 5 or 10 minutes. Take care.
@weeepsalotts7234 жыл бұрын
@@paolasoltero53 think of it differently, think of caring for your home as your new position for right now. If you took pride in your job, that should help replace that sense of pride you are missing. Also, knowing your home is taken care of, and knowing what is inside of it can help eliminate some of the stress of the unknown. And doing something productive gives you less time to worry and stress about things happening in the world that you have no control of, you have total control over what is inside of your home. Try to change your perspective, you are not cleaning because of you have nothing else to do, you are cleaning because this is what you have time to do in this moment of your life. Plus, how cool will it feel to have a clean and sorted house when you do return to a job one day. Try to think of all of those projects that you once said you would do, if you just had time to do them.

Awesome tips Mellissa. It was boring for me too. If we I don’t keep Myself busy , I end up reading the news and KZbin videos on updates that makes it feel so boring and drab. So I started to clean , organize And redecorate (with whatever items we already own) my entire home neatly. It keeps my mind occupied and when I complete Cleaning and organizing each draw, cabinet and rooms, I feel a great sense of happiness. I love cleaning and organizing. I love doing art and crafts. I am going to spend time on that after I do my house work and office work each day. Also I am Praying to God to make everything back to normal around the world for all of us.

Great video! Before the lockdown I was not able to make my bed everyday because when I left for work in the morning my husband was still in bed because he gets home late at night from work. By the time I got home in the evening it was almost time to go back to bed. Now, due to the stay-home stay-healthy order, I've been home and now I have the time to make my bed everyday. It does make me feel good because the room looks clean. Also, I will definitely apply the tip of dusting one thing everyday as well as some of your other great tips. Thank you.

One of the best CMS videos I've seen. There is a lot of really good points made in this video. One may think "Well cleaning is common sense, how much can you say about it?" To this I would reply "A lot!" The beauty of these videos is that they crystallise what we know and bring it to the forefront of our intention so we can realise that these are the tiny habits we need to form if we want that clean, fresh peaceful space most of the time. Well done Michelle. I'm watching you from Australia and I think you do a great job always. You are so down to earth. I watch a lot of CMS. Stay healthy!

Paused the video part way through and finally finished tidying away clothes in my recently renovated bedroom. And did some dishes. Feels good. I'm immersed in redecorating and tackling projects, so the house has gotten a bit messy. Two things I've learned: don't start too many projects at once and let the house get too messy, it gets you down; and you'd be amazed at what you can achieve with stuff you already have. For example, I'd bought paint, voiles and lampshades for my two bedrooms a few weeks before the lockdown, in a cream/gold theme. Planned to buy new curtain poles, but found gold Hammerite paint in my shed (result!) so the existing ones have been upcycled. Dug out old cream-coloured curtains with a gold fleck in them. Fiancé had a bedspread with gold fabric. It all looks great and has saved me a small fortune.

Dear Melissa everytime when you post a video i sit down,stop what i am doing and just listen to you and learn,no joke. Because of you i want my house to be clean and organize. My big problem in the home is clutter, i get rid of lots, but still. Specially my masterbedroom became in a way storage room and i hate that. My daughter room looks good when i clean & tidy ,but when she start to do art&crafts is looking like a messy shop and she is still learning to put them back. You always give me the motivation i need for the day, even if you didn't post anything i go to any of your videos and take my motivations from there. Staying at home now for me it's a blessing, first we have family time more and stay safe and then i try new cooking recipes ( it's funny because now we have more dishes to wash ( hand wash 😁 ) . So we've got few board games we play, home school ( my daughter is 12 years old ) and i decide to do half an hour everyday and during the day we read a a bit and learn something new everyday. I wish you all the best to you and your family 🤗😘🤗😘

Your daughter is the cutest 😍 As of now the job I do requires me to work, however...I have and always will demand to have a fresh clean house 😉 Tip: start at the beginning of the week and tidy up each day, it will help you at the end of the week. The more you do that the easier it will be to clean without being tired and or in your feelings ☺️ my Mom made us make our beds after getting up as kids and now me and my sisters still do. Some things take time, relax, and enjoy life 💚 many blessings to all of you 🙏🏼

I like that you talk about doing a little at a time. My mom has OCD and hoarder issues, so I always got "if it can't be done completely perfect, it shouldn't be done." I never learned to "keep clean", only how to "clean up" - in other words, never taught to be neat/clean in little chunks, only how to do a massive emergency cleaning. A few years after marriage, I became partially disabled and became severely depressed. The hardest lesson I had to learn was "do what you can, some is better than none, and do it when you can." I have a cleaner come once a week to do the heavy/hard stuff (vacuum, mop, anything on a ladder, etc.), and have learned to spend a few minutes each day "straightening up" (putting things back where they belong, cleaning messes cats/husband makes). My big breakthrough was in laundry: instead of doing 3 loads in one day once a week, I do a load whenever I can, but don't start another until it is completely dealt with - I fold/hang/sort as it comes out of dryer. If I don't, laundry quickly becomes an overwhelming task, with clothes getting too wrinkled or dirty (cats climbing in basket) and I have to start over. Any time I empty sink, I spray it down with cleaner, even if I'm unable to give it a scrub - the scent and empty sink helps send the signal to others to not mess it up lol
@epowell42114 жыл бұрын
PS on Bed making: while making your bed is great, it's a good idea not to do it immediately after you get up. Wake up, pull the covers down to expose as much mattress as possible and fluff the pillows, then go eat breakfast/ get ready or something for several minutes to allow the humidity to evaporate. Bonus if you can get sunlight in room as the UV rays help kill germs.

Once you get past the fumbly stage, it's very relaxing. I may even have to pick up a project myself just for that reason. :) Good luck!

i so love your videos. I havent been able to watch you in along time due to 2 jobs. I was laid off my parttime job due to covid. now being under quarantine 2 wks and then out of work the duration of covid due to cancer etc. I so love and appreciate your videos. one of my needs are ideas for cleaning ceiling fans with high ceilings and i desperately need new mop system. i really like the spinning mop idea. i like the stainless steel component and not sure which one to buy. I want a higher end system. any suggestions? anything better. i have horrible linolium floors.

I loved the video and only noticed the following because I was writing everything down so that I would remember. #12 is labeled "Keep Your Hands Full" but seems to be more about folding clothes when done. # 13 is labeled "Always Have Full Hands" and the content matches. Mislabeled? In any case, useful tips, great info.

Hi Chad & Melissa! Thanks for this great recap! Since you will filming more in those quarantines days, more cleaning inspiration videos would be nice. I do not know how much time it take when you do them, but I can promise that I will listen them more than once! I do not count how often I saw your last one of 2019 that you suggested at the end of this one. I looked the one that Chad made couple times too, but I prefer with the voice over explaining what you do with your great tips. It really help to get in the mood of cleaning! Even if you think that you repeat and repeat the same things, the more we watch, the more we understand your method and put your tips in our cleaning routine. Maybe something like a video per room of your cleaning routine with more tips on what you change especially for the quarantines days, how you plan your tools and products to use... ultimately something that people can do while children’s watch their “one film” per days under the supervision of the oldest one or an adult. And you definitely can do some of them Chad! I am sure that you know all Melissa tips... even if you may not applied them all! Thanks for your great work! Love your microfibres clothes too!

How to keep drawers fresh? I read that baking soda is good,but I wrote "what, the whole box?" I like the idea of sachets, I recycle old shirts for cat toys ( true story, they 're so fun. Especially if your cat loves catnip) and wonder if I can fill them with baking soda. I love that you just said "spectacles". The shoe thing = great for keeping outdoor germs from being tracked all over the joint.
