Thank you so much for posting this video. seriously! I have hair exactly like this and I always got bullied in school because of it. people called me poodle and all kinds of mean names. back then there wasn't really any tutorials to go by. all of my friends have straight hair except for my best friend who like me got picked on. It feels really good that curly hair like this is now being recognized and that there are videos like this. I finally feel like we can embrace our curls instead of hide them.

my advice is try using a styling product first apply a leave in conditoner like shea moistures products or something then after that use a styling product like a gel or jelly or pudding I use the eden coconut curling cream dont be afraid to ask people you see at stores with curly hair what they recommend I used to do what you're doing to but then I discovered styling products also you may like to try braid outs or twist outs 😊 best of luck also I heard the Camille rose curl maker works really good

Actually combing is recommended for curly hair. Not a pick but a wide tooth comb. Try not to brush your hair when its wet. It can cause more breakage even though us curly haired girls loved brushing/combing our hair when its wet. Ive found that my curls look better when i use a comb, ogx curling creme, and a diffuser..

2 is my absolute favorite on this texture of hair it is almost like a faux hawk. 8 before you put in the second elastic - I think the messier it is, the better because I love the volume AND 11 is nice, too. You have great hair!

Alegria Rodriguez You and I have similar hair. I have spirals OH MY! I have hated my hair since I was old enough to style it. I am tired of wasting time, fighting my hair's natural texture. There was a time in the past when the thought of going out in public with my hair in its au naturel state was enough to keep me indoors, I x'd plans :'/ I avoided going places, doing things and was late a lot...all because of my hair. Curly hair is unruly and unpredictable. If it rains what am I going to look like??? Sad. But true :) Embracing my curls is so much easier and my hair looks gorgeous. Everyone always said my hair was pretty but I didn't think it was until very recently.
