If I did not know you from this channel and know that you had a boyfriend, I’d probably flirt with you if I met you in real life, as I’m a sucker for a cute and handsome young man - even at age 53 “young free and single/slapper” I’m always on “hunk-watch” and I can never resist flirting with the nearest hottie, even if he is straight 🥰🥰🥰

"Date outside your type?" Well I accidentally did that meeting my future husband online before we ever saw each other. I wasn't looking for a bear but I found one with the sweetest smile! We had fifteen years before he passed! Wise advice, Chris!

I would modify the "don't date closeted guys". I think that should be more of a conversation than a hard no; find out what his comfort level is. There is a bit of difference between a guy that won't acknowledge you in public, and a guy that just doesn't do PDAs. Some may stay closeted their whole life, some just need time to accept who they are. Some are simply more "out" that others. Can you accept his sexuality level? We do evolve, but maybe it's not as fast as some would like. Unfortunately there is still far too much hatred out there.

I wouldnt say pda is being considered staying in the closet. In some cases yeah it would be but people who are introvert just don't like showing PDA as well as being uncomfortable with other couples showing PDAs among people you don't know
@Muhluri

I agree. Even if I was dating a woman I wouldn't show pda in open spaces. Maybe in a park or a plane I might hold my partner's hand but I'm not going to show off@@gerardoalvarado8425

I'm 47 and literally all of my gay friends that I had in my 20s and 30s are now coupled, married and some with kids. Ironically I was the one who had my shit together at a young age way more so than any of my friends. Now I'm literally a multimillionaire - I own a house in PTown, 5 condos in Boston, have a great career, have a great family, workout 6 days/week, like to think I am kind to people. I have literally gone on hundreds if not thousands of dates over the past 20 years and nothing ever amounted to anything. I find most guys just want to hookup which I have zero interest in. It's hard to find guys who actually want to go on a normal date and have an actual conversation. If you are in a long term loving relationship, consider yourself extremely lucky and fortunate. Lonliness is one thing you can't get rid of with a credit card and it is very painful.

I’ve also been pretty financially successful (not nearly as you @Pat7629 but in a Gen Z sort of way haha) but I completely agree. It is incredibly lonely, and on my dark days of solitude I just stare at the ceiling forgetting all of my expensive clothes and tech and makeup. They can never be dates or boyfriends or my future husband, those lovely things are all just recurrent credit card debts. And while I’m very happy for how far I’ve come at 26 it would be far far better just having more gay men in this county to get us up and out of our comfort zones.

I was closeted, even uncertain of what i wanted. Going back and forth on feelings. A hookup ended up leading to a date, and he questioned why i appeared 'incognito'. Today, well actually in 12 days, we will be married 10 years. I still prefer not to be out to anyone other than friends and family. Sometimes it does work out.

Good video! Lots of great tips. I'm afraid that I have never been lucky in the dating department. In fact, as I look back on my life, I can't say that I've actually been on a real date. I don't think I've ever been good enough for anyone. Being gay is tough and it seems that you have to have the looks and the financial security to be successful as a gay man. Out of everything you said I really liked the "date outside your type" tip. I hope people hear that. I think that's where I went wrong. My "type" was never interested in me. It's probably too late for someone like me but hopefully other gay guys will take the suggestions in this video to heart and have less regrets in their love lives.

I have never had a boyfriend. I’m in my 30’s and while I’ve been with plenty of men hookup wise… I’ve never been in a boyfriend & boyfriend situation. Now that I was diagnosed with b-cell lymphoma stage 4 almost 2 years ago, and because of the harsh treatment, I am now blind in one eye and am more insecure than ever- I can’t work, I’m not ugly but having a blind/lazy eye is all I can think of what they’re looking at. Maybe one day I’ll find Mr. Right, but for now I have to learn be happy with being single and alone… most likely forever 😂

4:35 Is this a reupload? Chappy has been shutdown since 2020 lol. Lots of good tips Chris, a few that are a little off, but overall great information... However, I have to STRONGLY disagree with not dating closeted guys. I know it can be difficult for some people to "deal with", but as you said, date outside your comfort zone. If any of my exes or my husband wouldn't have given my a chance when I was closeted then I would never have had built up the confidence and strength to come out to my family and friends and engage in the community.... I was with my husband for over a year and a half before I came out. I've had friends who went through similar situations. Most closeted guys are that way for a reason and are great guys outside of that one hangup. They just need someone to love and support them when their families won't and help them grow comfortable with themselves........❤

I def like the date out of your type. I feel that with all these labels we have in the community, I personally dont know where I fit in within the community. And I think gay men focus too much on the sexual preferences and because of that many end up being single still later in life. Look past the sexual preferences and I guarantee you will find the love of your life

Also goes the other way around, if you pretend to be someone else, they might have actually liked your true self more than the one you played for them.

5:40 This one is easy. Just go to Palm Springs, then you can assume everyone is gay, and like 50% of the time, you'll be right. 😀

You seem to think the only places to find a date is through Apps. How about just trust that the Universe knows what you want and where he is, and go about your business. Meeting on Apps is not always the best advice. Meeting someone in a grocery store or on the street or even in a bar, is sooooo much better than meeting someone online.

Yeah because that's realistic in a non-gay city/area. Maybe that works in New York, West Hollywood, San Francisco, etc. But not in most cities across the United States. I would say a gay bar is better.
