Not a boomer (technically an older millennial, but I think folks give way too much credence to the whole generation labeling thing - I may have been influenced to some extent by the cultural and historical events I grew up during, but I experienced them differently from many others in my general age range and my unique personal experiences shaped me far more… Adam Conover made a great video/speech about it, but anyhoo… ), but I knew about all except the first, and I thought most people did too, especially since the the Marx brothers are commonly known as “the Marx Brothers”. I’ve been interested in older film and television since before I can remember, so I probably know more about people in the industry from before my birth than the stars of recent decades. I’m almost as clueless about current pop culture as my parents are, and my teenager, fortunately, doesn’t know much more about it than we do. It all depends on what you’re exposed to, including what you choose for yourself. Some stuff is hard to miss, cause it’s practically everywhere and you just have to put up with it, but to some extent you can tune it out, especially with the internet becoming the main source of entertainment and information.
