The FP-45 Liberator had no expectation of doing anything silently. You used it to schwack/merk/dispatch a sentry or policeman, steal his weapons and gear, and then disappear before the noise alerted anyone. But it was/is not silent by any measure.

sweet topic, there's no way that's a real adopted military weapon. you would need 3 STRONG men just to carry the gun, another for the tripod, and a truck to haul the ammo. a regular Browning M.2 will do just as good of a job, at a fraction of the weight, cost, and i can't even imagine how complex that thing would be to "field service". you would need an armor just to keep it running. and all of that is assuming that this thing is a real gun, rather than some talented artist's rendition of "the ultimate machine gun". which is about 100 times more likely.

1348 The founders said that there are no limitations on the arms that I can possess, so I want one of those, nobody has the right to say that I can't. “Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American…The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.” - Tench Coxe

I totally agree with the prior commentor. The only reason that the gov't would want to outlaw certain weapons would be to overwhelm any rebelous person or group. And why would there be any group or person(s) who might want to rebel against any government ? How many countries would you want me to name ? There are various countries who have given ABSOLUTE power to different dictators who have suppressed their peoples because the people have no recourse due to all firearms/weapons being confiscated. We cherish our freedom and have fought various wars to assure that it remains. Numerous countries to include Russia and China have asked our politicians to remove all guns from their citizens. Why might that be ? In the 60's Russia outnumbered our scattered forces immensely. We found out that the Soviets were considering attacking the USA. And what made them change their mind ? We had the largest armed civilian army in the world. It would be a bad idea. Yes, we have lost quite a few people to those who have mental issues and had access to a weapon. And to those who want our society to seize and remove weapons from it citizenry, I have to ask how you would like losing even more life, and your freedom ???? We don't need guns for hunting, unless we are hunting those who wish to take away our freedom, foreign or domestic. Nuts or politicians. THINK, THINK, THINK !!!

My Grandfather was a Provisions hunter on the Chesapeake Bay. His Father would sometimes go out on the water and hunt duck and goose for the fancy places in the DC and Balmer area. Terrapin and Frogs too. He still owned it when I was a kid and fired it ONCE. the cops showed up. He laughed and said 'just like when we'd use it when I was a KID!' It was illegal in the Depression Era and his Dad and Uncles used him and his cousin and brother to help clear up the duck and go ONE way while the gun boar went the OTHER (the Game Wardens were always close in his telling). they'd meet on a Island off Havre De Grace and clean them and meet a truck next to a creek somewhere. they only wanted and needed the breast meat...so tearing the hell out of the backs and heads was no worry. But he did say after doing it a few times he lost his interest in eating duck or goose....too much gore.

In the United States there should be no weapon illegal for civilian ownership. The current NFA restrictions violate the 2nd amendment. In the years after the Revolutionary War and adoption of the Constitution civilians owned cannon, armed warships, etc. Lewis and Clark purchased a privately owned cannon to take with them on their cross country expedition.

Not that a pike is not really relevant; it does have a useful rate of jabbing, long jabs, reliability, and low cost. They could also be used with hooks, spikes, or axes. Like a halberd. Which may be more relevant. Fighting in small or cluttered areas like on old ships, can be a disadvantage. Clubs and knifes were also commonly used, as muzzle-loading guns were too slow to reload.

#1 would be gatling gun or even better the splat gun - plate with ammo inserted has spung lever/ firing pins and a wheel or angle piece pushes down levers as plate turns on center pin until ammo and barrel line up , the wheel or angle piece has edge so lever springs back with pin hitting primer and bang . when all rounds fired the plate comes off and replaced . Heavy nasty low velocity inaccurate and reloading plates was slow often dangerous but over heating the 1 barrel and hard to turn plates ? it was a start and had shock value . Weird thing was it was based on Leonardo da Vichi drawing . he also did one with rockets but with a slow match .

@animefool22

It fires a coffee can of regular birdshot across a wide area, "hunters" would paddle their punt boat silently into range of a flock of ducks in the water before lining up the punt to get the most ducks inside the shot zone and firing the gun fixed to the front of the punt, the low powder charge for that amount of pellets (because of the short range) the high weight of the gun and the free floating lightweight punt absorbed a lot of the recoil. All that was left was to collect the dead ducks, sometimes the whole flock, sell them in town and go to work at your regular job.

SORRY THIS IS LONG -The Lemat but I'd re engineer it to use an electric spark igniter and bullet/propellant encased in hardened propellant with ignition at rear connective to probes that heated and ignited the propellant which would leave the rifled barrel clean so another round could quickly be inserted and a PBI that fired the center barrel either solid or bullet that split into multiple darts when the bullet spins via low rifling each dart would have small fletching that pops out . Just an idea but does away with the percussion caps and power through recharge of capacitors or battery with wind up charger in grip ? even piezo crystals could work ? the bullets pushed down would spread like the miniball ( concave base ) to engage , seal and hold the bullet in place. I wouldn't defile an original ! OK yes I'd love a Mauser with longer barrel and stock used by British German and other EU countries past WW2 . Love a TOMPSON LONG ROUND DRUM MACHINE GUN even just to fire one ! There was a gunsmith in Queensland who designed a very accurate single action 7.62mm round that was more robust and effective /accurate over longer distance without jams balanced to keep kick minimal so your on target but the Aussie military found it needed to build manufacturing equip from scratch though it would have been better than the Styer they use now it also could change barrels to fire 5.56mm . Pity but they needed to replace one of my favorites ( SLR or FN 109 ? can't remember ) and the M16 .

One of my favorite weird guns is the Indian meaning the country India well an Indian Castle Wall Breacher. They would fire a large around 2 to 5 pound cannon ball out of a massive 25 to sometimes 50 foot long barrel. They would pack about 10 feet of gunpowder into the barrel then they would have 10 to 30 people on each side of the barrel hold the handles and they would fire the massive gun at castle walls. India did in fact use the guns as well even into world war 2 in order to take out enemy ships mostly the Japanese. India has also used them against China as well. There were replaced with long range artillery cannons and ship cannons and well modern tank guns. That being said the guns were highly effective and especially after they were given riffling. They wee blatantly a giant monster of a gun. Basically imagine a destroyer's or battle ship's large cannon that would be held and carried by a lot of soldiers. If I remember correctly one was even used in Desert Storm which it put a gaping hole within 3 giant buildings because it fired with such force it blasted a metal encased in concrete ball into the buildings with such force from the 10 foot long gun powder casing. The guns basically are only one use guns but dear fucking god you really don't need more than 1 shot to take out the enemy targets. It was used as a surrender or we will fire again. Every time they were used at least half of the people holding it steady to all of them end up hospitalized from the massive recoil. Hitler was recorded saying FUCK NAH lets ignore India for a bit for those people are insane. There is an actual written down event on India being in war with Israel and firing it at an Israel military base and the entire base was obliterated from the force of the impact as well as out of the 50 Indian soldiers who fired it about 23 died from the recoil and 20 of them had blown off limbs from the recoil and the rest were seriously injured. Israel then fled all the way back to Israel and requested an instant end to the conflict with India. Losing about 2800 soldiers from a single bullet was enough of a deterrent to end all hostility. Its almost a literal ton of gunpowder launching a projectile at such insane speeds its literally like firing a nuke dam near because it causes that much damage from the impact and concussive force from the blast of it kind of destroys everything in its path. Its basically a delete everything in that direction as well as near 100% reality that the people firing it will also be dead from the massive recoil. Its basically a numbers game. Sacrificing 20 to 60 people to take out thousands is generally better odds for the side that fires it.

8:14 Talking about Zip Guns but showing a high tech .22 production handgun? A Zip Gun is a piece of crap handmade assembly of pipe, screws and a nail.

Oh come on how will i defend my home without a 3 barrel HMG. I thaught this was Merica, you know ware everyone and their mom have a select fire AR variant of some kind, and body armor is a booming business.

Wow. That's a lot of other KZbinrs you're stealing footage from. Yeah, fair use, but there's a lot of footage of these weapons out there without taking other Tuber's stuff. And why the HECK include the Boarding Pike, when you could have included the Pepperbox. AND YOU SHOW FOOTAGE OF A REAL MANUFACTURED FIREARM THAT HAPPENS TO BE CALLED THE ZIP, WHEN TALKING ABOUT CRAPPY HAND MADE GUNS? That is simply inept.

@13:50 Hell no! I think I should be allowed to own a Tank if I want. Civilians without armaments emboldens oligarchs. UK is finding this out right now the hard way.

you can own a tank in fact a person in oz owned a APC and took it for a drive into a cell tower . here you just can't own the good bits that mean you don't have too write off a nice APC if your pissed about your phone bill ( oh and 4 or 6 police cars )

Triple Barrel MG... HA GAAAAAAYYYYYY!!! If you can't wield it to go on run and gun or repositioning, then it's useless as a squad weapon or even for vehicle mount. And by having that bulky structure to mount 3 firing mechanism in vertical configuration meaning if you need to aim it, you either poke your head high enough to ADS through the sight atop of the gun unless you have a side-mount sight likes Bren LMG or PTRD. Besides, why do you even bother with 3 guns in 1 package when you can have 4 guns in 1 contraption or having 3 separated guns in 3 different locations. In fact, there is a lot more you left out, but I quite understand why. If you look for quality, you go to Germany, on the other hand, if you look for creativity, you turn east and head for Russia. There was one hybrid rifle I can't remember the model where the upper 2 barrels fire shotgun shell or traditional hunting rifle bullet, and the single-underbarrel fires 7.62x39mm or 5.45x39mm. So, the Lamat Revolver isn't just innovation anymore, but a piece of work that inspires gunsmith across the globe to make pieces of work like the Russian rifle I mentioned.

Sweet topic --- the Military should have all the creature comforts close at hand that technology has to offer. Not good in a civilian capacity.
