How dose it do on temperatures running a forestry mulcher? Engine and hydraulic temps? Temp out side?

I have run it 10 hours on a 90 degree day and not even close to overheating. It's been great. Massive hydraulic driven fan and monster radiator

This digs like a champ but definitely shuts itself down to protect it. Has way more torque then the 289d3 it replaced

Tons Lighter more torque less flow but way more comfortable. The 275 is supposed to be the same size as the 299 the 265 is more on par with the 289 but way more powerful

What mulching head do you use? About to buy a Cat 265 but worried about what size mulching head it can run with only being 74hp

Has more torque than the current 299. Thing is an absolute tank. I run a 3100 lb 80 something inch diamond mowers drum mulcher. Does great. Make sure you get the counterweight kit.

Have you done much dirt work with it? Heavy digging etc.. just curious if it feels underpowered at all. This is the only 74hp machine I’m looking at because it looks great as far as lift height-weight-torque at that mid rpm range. Great review.

I am running a toothed bucket and it's impressive! I have been digging a bit and it definitely has a good ground traction and they definitely have it so you aren't breaking the machine with limiters. Overall it's good. I will say it's not a full size machine like a 299 but I'm not expecting that out of it. It definitely keeps up with my old deleted svl90-2 with 109hp

Do you arm rests move with the seat when you move seat forward or back?

You can move the armrest separately from the seat so they are fully adjustable

@thethoughtfulcarpenter yes, they move independently but if you move the seat forward or back the arm rests should move with the seat. Every cat machine I've had for the last 16 or 17 years has had seats like that

@@thethoughtfulcarpenter Metal to Metal grinding from inside arms and the step attached to the cab in the center. The arm is off center from the machine so it grinds the step and the bottom of the arm. So far HOLT and CAT are saying this is "normal". Just curious if yours is the same they said all of these new machines are like this.

With no def and 74 HP it easily out works my 109hp deleted Kubota svl-90 Way more comfortable as well. Could use a bit more ground clearance

Cat motor. Basically perkins cat bought them They are more expensive and have way more features and comfort. Kubota is like the kia with cloth seats takeuchi is like a Toyota and cat is Cadillac. This is similar power to a svl 97 with less weight and costs 15-20k more. I sold my Kubota for a cat because of my local service. Admar was a waste of time and Kubota takes a week to overnight parts. Cat will have it tomorrow

luckily they did away with the Kubotas. Their injectors were junk and when they’d fail they often Times destroy the engine. Lots of head gasket problems too. These and pretty much all new compact cat equipment are running Perkins. The engine in the 255 and 265 is a 904J-E28 Perkins. But don’t get too excited yet, Cats done this once before. From like 98-06ish in the A and B series skid they used Perkins engines and it was an unmitigated disaster. We’d beg for the kubotas back if it’s anything like that. The 3024 was the worst. Most didn’t make it 500hrs before the pickup tube broke and a rod went through the side of the block. The 3034s were marginally better. The oil pump casting on those liked to break off and Same end result, new inspection port in the block. Hopefully these new Perkins are better, but they are asking a lot of a little 2.8L engine. Cats owned Perkins since 98.

All of the competitors to asv just refuse to utilize a roller support to full track width. Brand loyalty to override quality... I'm buying a asv.😉

Pay attention to the ASV quality control. There's a lot to be needed there. Overall, they're a good machine. The trade-in on them is terrible. I test drove both before I bought this one knowing it would dig in the dirt as well as mulch. The ASV is not a dirt machine.

You can buy my svl-90 Parts are cheaper than Kubota and bobcat is awful with getting those cheap parts. Milton cat has always had what I needed in stock or will overnight it. Admar my Kubota dealer is a joke
