Absolutely mesmerizing! The reason the floor lamp looks off is because it's too thick for its height. That bead would work for a table lamp, but on the floor lamp it's super chunky!

I cut out a tablet section from a blister pack of paracetamol for a 144th scale bath, I would never of thought to create a bath from foil! So clever! I also use these plastic tablet packaging for loaf dishes for 1:12 miniatures, with nail polish to thicken the plastic. I can't wait to try the foil to see what else can be created!

For that lamp - it looks off because the lampshade and base are too narrow in relation to the center column. Also, having lived through the 70s, I can attest to the fact that not everything was weird swirly colors. 70s lamps had wood columns, you know, to match the wood paneling on the walls. 😂

The "something not quite right with this lamp" is that the lamp shade and the base of the lamp are out of proportion to the lamp itself. It needs a thinner bead at the top where the lampshade meets the lamp, and the foot/base of the lamp should be wider to prevent tipping. Jmo. Your work is amazing, though, and truly creative af!

Fun fact on eggs which might help with scale :) A goose egg is 3x the size of a chicken egg. A duck egg is 2x the size of a chicken egg. Of course, chicken eggs vary in size by breed anyway...we had a few chicken eggs that we had to wonder if they were chicken or duck, except that ducks couldn't access the location in which the eggs were laid. (Just replying to what you said about not being able to make your eggs any smaller; they could easily be duck or goose eggs.)

Great Video. I am wondering tho on where you buy those parts or beads at and also the jewelry parts at too. I buy the dollhouse houses mini ones and you know being a man we tend to lose things and break things so I been trying to find those parts and antique parts at Walmart and Hobby Lobby but they only carry certain stuff and some of it isn't small enough for a Mini Dollhouse. I build these for my Granddaughter so after I pass on she can have these memories of me building them for her. Everyone else just buys her things but I build her things from the heart.

@queencityminis5 ай бұрын
I agree. The shade is too small for a floor lamp.
@patmanchester8045Ай бұрын
You wanted to know what is wrong with the floor lamp. I think the shade should be wider and down more, maybe taller. Go on line to places like Rejuvenation Hardware they teach about the shize of lamps to the area and the size of shades to the lamp Asset to a chair with a person in the chair you have it, the light would only go as far as the base of the lamp. You want it to be wide enough so a person sitting in a chair can read or sew in the lamp light. Also, the lamp may be too tall. The lamp should not be so tall as to send light into the eye of the person in the chair.You can measure it compared to a well placed lamp from a high end lighting store. If you have an interior design friend, you can get the stats on that from them.
