2020 has been a hectic year for all of us so many things happened we lost loved ones. personally, the death of my grandma last month affected me so much. I wish if I spent more time with her. she forged a path that every person should follow (love and be loved), I love her and I will love her the rest of my life. my new year resolution is to live as she used to with the same potential of energy. so if you are reading my comment go and hug a very close person to you , offer this person a letter or a rose .tell her/him how much she/he means to you .at the end of this year let's be kind to each other , help each other , love each other and that's, in my opinion, the key to happiness. I hope 2021 will be a good year. much love to all of you guys

"Age quod agis" was my schools motto and they interpreted it as "whatever you do, do well" which is something I find myself thinking surprisingly often! Another catch phrase of mine is "pay the man", basically if you can afford it then outsource whatever someone else would do better, even if you *could* do it if you bought lots of kit or spent lots of time. Saved me so much bother. Another insightful video, Ali, thanks! :)

Announcing the time on MAC in 15 minute blocks is very helpful. 1. In Big Sur or later, click on the apple in the upper L corner of screen for preferences. click on "Dock and Menu Bar." 2. scroll down the “Dock & Menu Bar” sidebar and click “Clock.” 3. Once you're on “Clock” preferences, put a checkmark beside “Announce the time.” 4. Then, using the drop-down menu, you can customize if you want your Mac to announce the time on the hour, on the half-hour, or on the quarter-hour. 5. Then pick a voice, and 6. SAVE.

On goals, there might be a way to reconcile self-acceptance with setting goals. Think about setting a Theme instead of a goal. Your work can then fall under the theme and the broadness of a theme will accommodate the shifting goal posts. This genuinely helped me. There is a great CGP Grey video on this.
@TheIAmThat3 жыл бұрын
On point 15 - goals: I think setting goals should be the same as self acceptance. The difference is where the goals come from. People have grown up somewhere and their selves are covered in learned behaviour. So self acceptance can come with all the goals being more "us" and leaving learned behaviours behind. On the hard contrast we are a lot of people on earth and this has created a weird stress for people to be like everybody else and often even better - which is a contradiction to being ourselves. After all it's called self conscience and not foreign conscience. So from that perspective your old view and your new view both makes sense. It simply slims it down to your own belief system and takes away the better, faster, stronger in all areas where it does not help you archive what one might consider one's lifes purpose and leaves being more of pure you. And in the end isn't self acceptance accepting who I am and want to be rather than who others want me to be or what I learned I should be? I personally think self acceptance should not be linked to a status quo, as we all typically are not where we want to be not even behaviourally.

My personal tip: Place multiple alarms to annoy yourself out of sleep. For example, instead of just placing one alarm for 5:00, you place 3 for 5:00, 5:01 and 5:02. When you turn off your first alarm, you are probably not aware of what you're doing. By the time the second or third comes, hopefully you will be annoyed enough or remember that you were supposed to be waking up. If you are a particularly stubborn person by nature, place even more alarms. Really works, I tell ya.

From experience, I'd like to add to Ali's 15 minute chunks idea: - it's most important that you must not use anything digital or something entertaining in general because it's like a casino, you won't know how quickly it's become 10:46 , etc and thus you end up wasting 14 more minutes doing nothing. I'm doing it right now!

Tennis lessons I've learnt ('perhaps I can tell this nice young man something worthwhile'): 1/. hit the ball where they're not (preferably to their backhand, for most people) 2/. if they're at the net, hit the ball at their belly button 3/. if you're at the net, play the angles so the ball goes out the side of the court, not along the court to where they are. You can still have fun doing this, but if your friends don't find it so, stay playing competitive tennis in your club.
