Even in IITs the scenario is similar, Mech and Civil don't code😂! But here in US, Mech guys use code to do lot of powerful physics computation. Will say India needs to upgrade the mindsets of its students to be more open to new advancements in their field. Cause growth is meager if you simply stick to same old technologies!

Mathematics is more required for Data Analysts as well. In my experience as a Power BI Dev, while working on calculations, we were able to optimize the DAX functions and M Query after we started analyzing the Math. behind it. Agree?

My suggestion is.. if you are a backend developer or do anything related to data , you can just focus more on SQL and understand the analytical part for data.. other stuff related to machine learning learn on your own and build a good kaggle profile .. then you are good to go..

Yes Ofcourse! I have jiju who was a C.A, although he was good but he made a bold decision to move into data science at age of 37. He made the switch over a period of 18 months, because he literally took his time to practice. He just got hired at Experian due to his CA background. He used it as an advantage in his interview. You see the thing is If any one is coming from a non tech background, they can leverage the fact that they worked in the industry and gained relevant exposure from it. Like, if someone is from hospitality background, after learning data science they can join the same industry as a data analyst, scientist, etc.
