Seeing this I often think airline pilots can't earn enough. Hundreds of lives on a knife's edge and it's just 2 guys with a stick or yoke in their hands standing between just another flight and a pile of burning debris. Like on it's own a crosswind landing like this is impressive enough, but then you see the aviation industry safety record and you realise those guys freaking nail it each and every single time! Bizarre.

Peter Timowreef now a days yes, but wind the clocks back 5-6 decades, you'll see that pilots wouldn't be able to land and takeoff safely due to high winds and piss poor conditions

I don't understand. If the wind is blowing from left to right, why are the rudders way over to the left, like the pilots want to turn the plane to the left after they land? I would think that they would have to be turning the rudders to the right to keep the wind from pushing them off the far side of the runway.

+james sinon They did that on purpose. You can see the aircraft landing sideways right? They didn't use the reverser so that they won't run off the runway.
