This is the start of the end of self-employment, travel freedom, and private local business ownership WHO decides on what local businesses are allowed to still exist in the area? This will also have a negative impact on business as they will lose trade for outside areas, this is a step backward for local business

Notice how this focuses on re-engineering concepts of what is "good" based on a series of unchallenged and unquestioned presuppositions that are framed into the argument, then presented to young people, teenagers and younger, as though these are fact. These involve the careful pre-selection of "necessary utilities" which deliberately delete scores of other kinds of purposive activities that are vital for good health, starting with freedom of movement. Notice also how it is academics united in unaccountable committees across the world, that are defining this and rolling it out as a necessary "change", ignoring the wishes of the people and never asking for their consent, and failing to realise that people can make a choice to walk or cycle for 10 minutes if they so wish, without the nanny State telling them to. Horizontal "governance" that excludes vertical accountability. This regards ordinary people as irrational and useless at making decisions, needing behavioural change and doing so by using psychological means that are either subversive or coercive, using "climate" and "health" as drivers in forcing compliance by stealth, or if this fails, by heavy fines, punishments and further threats of shaming and restrictions on the very freedoms it pretends to enhance. People can make their own decisions about what they feel is best for them; ironically the same people in the State approve of "freedom of movement" for anyone who cares to take it at great expense, even illegally, but are swift to remove this from those who pay their salaries. It is founded on arrogance and distortions and the view that oil-driven vehicles are to blame - when most cities' air pollution is caused by the institutional buildings that house those pushing this - and want to exchange these vehicles for battery-driven ones that are less useful, often more dangerous and expensive to the environment and the user, and shove these and other low quality solutions out of more prosperous areas and into the more impoverished suburbs. Yet again, people in power preaching the very opposite of what they actually perform, acting with the interests of powerful corporate groups and individuals, for their shared profit. Corporate-State 3rd-Way Communism is not what (ordinary) people want and not what children should be taught. Ordinary people, whose lives this affects most negatively, in Thetford, Oxford and many other towns are refusing this kind of rather patronising and even tyrannical taxation for the benefit of public sector pensions; spend the money on cleaning the roads, removing rubbish - especially now fly-tipping as the cost of recycling is so prohibitive, make it free for businesses and households! - and cutting back local government; invest in apprenticeships and promote cheaper motor vehicles, encourage sport and outdoor pursuits away from the city, make it easier for small businesses to flourish.... Many of us are old enough to remember when every district had its fishmonger, baker, butchers and greengrocers, within walking distance, by all means bring these back by incentivising them, lower taxation and easier movement, but not at the cost of penalties for driving 10 minutes from your own house!

How is this like being imprisoned? It's about allowing people access to everything they need within walking distance so that we don't have to rely on public transport or need to have cars. They're not saying that you're not allowed to have cars just that they're increasing ease of access. Could you explain to me why you feel like it's about being imprisoned?
@2leggedpirate265
@2leggedpirate265 Жыл бұрын
@@mannydekhar-antipov9954 you are completely wrong. it is about limiting your movement because they will impose how many times you can pass the 15 minutes distance a year. for instance, the oxford plan is to limit those passages to 100 a year. Pretty sure it needs a very wild imagination to see that number decrease more and more and more, right? but hey, don't trust me, go read the proposed ideas directly from their proposals. like i wrote before, i don't get how people can be so stupid that see being deprived of movement as something positive.

@@whatever-ql5ns walkable neighbourhoods benefits businesses of all sizes because you'd be able to *walk* to it instead of driving 5 miles each way to a larger, out-of-town supermarket. also, most buses these days are accessible so your point isn't true. as for fines - we all know that's complete utter rubbish. probably you should wake up to the mess that is sprawling suburbia - that is the problem.

But hospitals have been shut down and amalgamated into large super hospitals to cover massive areas! Yeah this affects us. The Glasgow - Edinburgh train isn't bustling both ways every week day. The adoption of americanised out of town malls hasn't been the leading decline for neighbourhood shops and services since the early nineties. Public transport services/routes & operating times haven't been slashed year upon year for decades, with whole neighbourhoods isolated. But....... Because of this initiative, we'll all just work, shop, live, maintain at home yeah? Do you know how far you cycle in 15 mins.....in the fucking rain with your asda shopping!!!

What a load of BS. The UK is only 1 percent of the World. The UK are hypocrites. Buying cheap shoddy products from China made with dirty coal and Russian oil.! Russia is laughing up its sleeve, so is China, India too and Asia, Africa and most of the World. The lockdown 20 minute neighbourhoods and 15 minute cities will bring sudden economic collapse to the UK. They are about sabotage and thought control. Gullible ignorant green activists have fallen for the left wing Putinista line and other politicians are in bed with China. Stop buying Chinese goods and that will affect climate change. Put high taxes on any products made with dirty fuels or Russian oil. Use UK oil and gas only. If we stop using fossil fuels suddenly our economy will collapse. There will be no jobs, no food and no money. The well meaning green warriors are leading the UK to economic collapse. When it happens Russia will have struck a fatal blow to the UK with the help of China and they will celebrate our passing!

It's a gulag prison system using the lie of global warming to force their new world order on us. These fckers are satanist commies who want to monitor and track everyone of us. They want us trapped in a prison system while they live up on the hill. What gives a council the right to act like the government?
