What I think is that the Generation z (I am apart of it 2003) has split in into micro generations because of the rapid inovations in technology and forms of online communication and I feel that the reason that the people born later in my generation are hated by the others is because society is getting faster for example content creators that were popular when I was 8 were not even heard of by people that were born not three years earlier (stampylonghead) so this forms a divide in our experiences therefore creating hostility due to indifference.

I think a lot of the intra-generation fighting in Gen Z (i was born 2004 for reference) is from technology/social media tbh. Like ive grown up with little to no internet access until i was ~12 or so, but the kids born later in Gen Z had this stuff right off the bat, and they are being exposed to this mind numbing garbage content which molds their minds to think that is the pinnacle of comedy... there is likely more to it than that, but that reason stands out to me

I think it's because newer Gen-z is full of hyper ADHD kids who use tik-tok and play fortnite. And the older gen-z kids like me grew up alongside many of the 90's kids. Society has taken such an extreme left turn that there is a social division between gen-z with the progression of technology. I grew up climbing trees and throwing rocks, the new gen-z is growing up posting to tik-tok and stealing credit cards to buy onlyfans and V-bucks. The new half of gen-z doesn't know what dial-up internet is and most haven't ever seen a phone book or a phone booth. Most of new gen-z have never seen a phone with a keypad, they can't imagine a world without touchscreen appliances, when I remember when the first Iphone came out, a year after Oblivion released. Edit: Shit, I still vaguely remember when 9/11 happened when I was one year old. It's probably the earliest memory I have going back. My parents were super freaked out watching the T.V. and I remember our brown couch and emerald green carpet floors with wood panel walls.

They identify as part of the same generation as us, but we had considerably different childhood experiences. We are nostalgic for different things. Additionally, as you have pointed out, we are still young. When you are young, you have a different perception of time. Some of us are twice as old as them. Some of us are legally adults, they aren't even teenagers. Some of us can drink, marry, have sex, vote etc. They aren't even in middle school. The antagonism started when the differences between us became readily apparent. That's how this us vs them dynamic was created originally. This is not a unique phenomenon; Throughout history, older generations have always complained about younger generations and it is always because of generational differences stemming from the different experiences. tldr: Ugh, kids these days with their fancy new conveniences, back in my day we didn't have any of this, and I dare say that we are the better for it.

Honestly I think Gen Z is such a weird generation and here's why. I was born in 1998. I played Nes. Nintendo 64. Ps2. Original Xbox. Watched Disney movies on vhs tapes and eventually some dvds. I was impressed by how different ps2 was to n64. I also grew up as a teenager through the ps3 Era where everyone played cod with each other despite being middle school kids. I bought my own ps4 at 18 and that's my norm now. But my brother was born in 2006 and I never realized it. But I bought an n64 for nostalgia sake. And he looked at the cartridge game I had along with it. And asked what it was and how it worked. It was so weird and odd to me to think despite having similar experiences and growing up together. He had never seen a cartridge game before in his life. It threw me for a loop. But we're both Gen z and yet our experiences vary more and more with each passing year. As kids younger than my brother don't even know about things like dvds or disc's anymore. So because of society and technologies rapid progression over the last few decades, it's almost like Gen z is really more than one generation in the same category

It’s odd being so old in a generation. I am 22 and in the same generation as a literal child. It will get better when the entire generation is adults, but it’s odd for me to be compared to a 9 year old. When talking about gen Z, you lump in the opinions and actions of 9 year olds and 24 year olds. This generation isn’t old enough to have a similar view on life. All millennials are adults and living life as adults, over half of gen z still haven’t graduated high school. They will differ extremely from older gen Z at this point in time.
