We need to start randomly sinking cruise ships to get rid of a good diverse portion of people to thin out the herd, unless we want to cross the 10 billion mark real soon. Heck, in 10-20 years we will already need 70% more food than we do now. And majority is starving already since a long time. @Steven Ticknor yesterday which was Sunday after Thanksgiving my husband and I came out of the grocery store to our car slightly blocked by a car that was blocking the car next to us from leaving. Why? Because the driver pulled into the spot from the spot behind it. What I call a pull through. You're facing out that way so you don't have to back out when you leave. It's done all of the time. The blocker said she was going to pull into that space next to us and the car she blocked illegally pulled from one spot to another. She called the cops and wasn't going to move until they came. It was pouring rain and about 40° and these people were standing outside screaming at each other. We have a very small car and were able to get out. The one thing perfectly clear to me was she had zero right to prevent us from leaving. It was just insane. Happy holidays.

A good story: I was working in the Redmond, Oregon Walmart Supercenter one Black Friday. I was assigned to cut open the black plastic on one of the center displays at a specific time. Being that it was a Super Center, it was open 24 hours so I had customers standing around waiting for the black plastic to drop. As you can imagine, I was legit scared. I made a joke about 'please don't kill me' while we waited, got a few laughs about that. Even conversed with a few of them while we waited. When the time came I quickly pulled out my box cutter and sliced down the plastic taking care not to cut what was under. And to my surprise the customers waited patiently for me to clear the black plastic and get out of the way before moving in to claim their prize. They even did so rather calmly. No rushing, no fighting. We didn't have to call the cops on anything going on in the store for the whole Black Friday event. Thought I was only there for part of it as I only worked the night shift. My night was pretty much like any other that Black Friday. Restocking items as needed, answering customer questions on where certain things were and informing others that we were out of stock on other things.

Wow, that was some crazy times. I've been here in USA over 20 years and never felt like wanting to experience the Black Friday live. I feel bad for those who got injured or died. Hopefully it is not such a madness since lot of folks order online. Stay safe out there today everybody.

Millions of semi-conscious Americans day after day shuffling through the malls like a herd of sheeple shopping and eating and buying a bunch of useless overpriced, overrated junk that doesn't work that they don't need with money they don't have because someone told them they needed it just so they can spend the rest of their lives maxing out their credit cards paying 18% interest on something that costs 12.50 and they didn't like it when they got it home anyways, not too f****** bright foolks not too f****** bright.🐑🐑🐑😂

"Wal-Mart trying to put the blame on the customer" AS THEY SHOULD! It's not the employees that are rioting in the stores over TV's and towels!
@hurricanemarigolds28182 жыл бұрын
Blame should go to both parties on this one. Walmart could fairly be argued to have fanned the flames or have cut corners on safety with how they chose to go about their sale and crowd management, those decisions likely were greed related as well. But the customers also should get a lot of the blame for behaving like feral greed stricken chimpanzees.

I never even realized how nasty Black Friday was until I heard the story of the one in Florida. I've only ever went to the Black Friday event once and I got there about 2 hours early and by the time it opened it had went all the way around the Best buy into the McDonald's parking lot and continued on from there. Probably the reason why I've never done it again. But still at Florida one was definitely infamous.

Around here, Black Friday was close to a normal shopping day in 2022. No one opened before their normal time on Friday, crowds were normal, and no incidents made the news. I think the fact that malls are ghost towns now, and Amazon is too easy, may have solved much of the Black Friday mob problems.

I noticed that all of these clips are old ones, mainly from the mid-late 2000s into the early 2010s. I feel like the typical Black Friday madness is no longer an issue anymore because of online shopping becoming more prevalent. It's probably a good thing because it saves the customers and employees a hell of lot of grief and even save lives. I'm sure there's still isolated incidents but I feel like this is a thing of the past considering there's no new clips, although I still will never attend a Black Friday sale because it was never worth it anyway.

Black Friday used to be utter chaos here in my hometown. This one time a employee was crippled after being trampled by a crowd, and another time a woman literally launched herself over the crowds onto the pile of sheets and tossed them back to her partner that had launched her. She got away with 12 of them despite the angry crowd chasing them. Presumably to sell on eBay for double the price much to the ire of the entire town. After that the local police department finally deemed it to be necessary to station officers at the local Walmart. In the years since the have been a few arrests after some fist fights but fortunately no deaths. Thanks to the Covid pandemic creating a boom for online shopping it’s become a lot tamer now. I went to the one sale and we were the only ones there besides the employees. It was the easiest experience I’ve ever had with Black Friday. We got what we were after in 15 minutes. Personally I hope it’s like that from now on. Getting up and such an unearthly hour is a pain in the neck but at least we didn’t have the fight over something stupid.

I think it was the Black Friday back in 2011 was the only time I ever too part. Game Stop was offering a good deal on trade ins and had a limited edition Ocarina of Time 3DS bundle. I had a beat up DS I was happy to be rid of as well. A friend of mine also wanted to get a deal on some PS2 hardware upgrade. We showed up around 8 and saw three people sitting side by side asleep on a bench under a blanket. Turns out they were there for simular deals but took the bus. We waited for hours for the midnight opening. Luckily this was in Sylvania Ohio so things were pretty calm. This was at a strip mall so we all had to wait outside. The line had formed orderly enough that by the 10 or so I looked back and was shocked at how long it was. The worst we had to deal with was a few hecklers who drove by. One of them just shouted, "What are you doing?" I couldn't resist and shouted back, "You're right!" Then turned back to the line and shouted, "Hey everyone! Let's go home!" I was proud of the amount of laughter I got from that. They even opened the Game Stop at 11:30 and the staff was very prepared by only letting in a few people at a time. I got the first of the Ocarina of Time 3DS systems and the woman at the counter told me how lucky I was because they had only gotten two at that location. I also got $40 off for my DS trade in. So it is actually a good memory. I got to hang out with my friend for a few hours as we waited and there was an air of anticipation that made it exciting.
