i had the dubious honor of riding one of the first f650s on the german market. this motorcycle was hard to beat in its boringness. yet many customers could not resist a bmw at such a low price.

N😅​@@martincvitkovich724with todays oils and oil coolers, even with timing sidebush are ok with single carb head but early 500cc A7 with magneto ignition and rigid frame is the most beautifully styled bike ever made. Because they were single carb 35bhp and simple they often went round the clock reliably .magneto ignition Lucas K2f is great. No battery needed to run and the frames, tanks are beautiful and made of gun metal surplus from WW2❤😊

Velocette were neither complicated or unreliable - it was a single cylinder push rod 2 valve - they don't get much simpler - the only unusual thing was clutch adjustment - the 500 was the first to do over 100mph for 24hr.
