@@daryldaryl913The GS 1250 isn't an airhead and is known as an oilhead engine. They came along later, replacing the original airhead design that first made them famous for longevity.

An annoying popular term is "yes its reliable providing you look after it".... Well an f1 engine is reliable if you rebuild it every race. My idea of reliability is when a motor runs and runs regardless of how its looked after...within reason. Remember how reliable Triggers broom was 🤔🤔

CMX250C twin; stock on the old Honda Rebels, will run forever!

Gotta ask the question, how do you determine the longevity and reliability of a motor that realistically is, in the main, no more than 10-15 years old, and most of these are actually quite recent.

Thank you. That thing is as reliable as a brick. Unless you hit it with a hammer it will keep performing.

I sold my k75c this weekend....talked to a customer of mine I seen in Walmart...ask him how did you loose your foot me motorcycle accident...I miss the bike one thing I enjoyed was the quick starting of bike and the sound of the engine it made idling....but I did ride it hard ...it was wise to let it go...the man that bought it paid asking price after riding it...and seemed happy to own it ....great bike

CRF has a life of very little because of the use it gets, rebuild every year . Most of these bikes have a life of short duration they are mostly just toys for boys.

The Triumph 765cc street triple is much the same as a tiger 800 which just shows how durable and over engineered the crankshaft is. The 800 is around 40 bhp less and they can go on for over 150000 miles. In my opinion these late triumph triples and also big thunderbird 1600 are my favourite engines. Im a BSA fan and didnt like triumph frames . Its sad BSA went bust in the early 1970s because their handling, styling wasgreat and the racing rocket 3 triple of 750cc was a world beater but fragile.
