You can still get ambrosia salad and cheese balls premade in stores, but you can make them with more vegan/vegetarian in mind, as well as taking food sensitivities/allergies of those whom you invite. Cheese balls are easier to use if warmed up enough.

@@AmericanRetros Thanks, and may i recommend Daiya cheese in place of milk cheese, and vegan marshmallows (or kosher made from fish bones if one/people aren't allergic to seafood), as examples. Most Whole Foods/NutrionSmart/co-ops will have the ingredients, but call 1st or check online, so that one doesn't have to waste time & gas driving around.
