10v10s also allow for unique fleet builds. Such as a dedicated scout/support fleet with a Intel center.

Really interesting and fun match. I think 10v10 is a great format, feels a little bit more like an open battle than a skirmish. 10v10 is is more likely to average teams out so they have a reasonable overall fleet and gives teams a better chance to recover if one player is caught out and dies early.

I was the commander of the CH that went with the BB into D. Those Mass Driver lineships were really able to chew us up while we were fighting the ocellos on that point. Our success against the ocellos, noted by JDee at around the 30 minute mark, turned rapidly into disaster, as the Mass Drivers were able to knock out our drives and guns rapidly after we had past D point to persue the ocellos. Nonetheless, it was a rather fun game

They should have a “spectator” slot that gives the same UI, but only for one team. Then in organized games of this size you could have an Admiral player for each team who don’t control any ships, but instead try to coordinate overall strategy and situational awareness. You could essentially do that by having a player with just like one scout ship or something, but the UI isn’t as good for that as the spectator UI.

Make the admiral have to choose a flagship that if lost they lose the ability to talk or see (as if they have died or are sitting in an escape pod)

So many ships knocked out and only 5 critical failures. I swear, the OSP are definitely a strong faction.

True I have experienced 9000 point lines hip cargo spam, there is no matter of pd that can stop it

I like how even though the Axford technically has more firepower then the Occello, the later has the firepower advantage since it can actually bring all it’s guns on target while bow tanking.

1 more 450 barrel , it still can't realy win an engage with a similar CH with that 10 less armor . but get the job done well for the role .

I don't think I've seen the OSP lose a direct fight yet. If they lose it's from capping. Granted this is entirely from game casts but still

I know it’s a year later, but I think I know why. In my mind, OSP ships are meant to play as glass canons, able to deal a hit but not take one. The problem in my mind is that in order to balance low player games (and even large battles like this), the hp pools were buffed to keep them from dying instantly if they were caught out, resulting in ships that ironically can both deal more damage in the same and new ways and on top of that, they can take the same or in the case of the tug more punishments than their ANS peers

Honestly how does the ANS respond to line ships? OSP still has radar jammers but they also have the EO dazzler so getting an S3 hybrid through is a big ask. And mass drivers have the same range as rail guns while doing more damage… and with lineships broadsiding to fire like they do railguns aren’t exactly a good counter-play option, you’ll constantly overpen. …so they can just sit at the top of the map and shred any capital ships that pop out, from what I can tell. They seem to even have enough velocity and accuracy to nail frigates at range too, which is pretty ridiculous.

It is countered by missiles, reverse jam, locking, and decoys. Still even that don't work sometimes. But they still complain it's too hard for them.

I'm starting to think the OSP needs a nerf. Normally when there is a perceived faction imbalance I'd prefer to buff the weaker faction to the same level as all others, but in this case I think the OSP overpowers the Alliance so much they should have won the Revolution the moment it started. Perhaps the point cost on the ships should be increased to represent the OSP's logistical scarcity. Also Yikes JD, are you okay? Your voice sounds scratchy as if you have a sore throat.

The ANS relied a lot on missiles in this match which is why their offensive capability fell off so hard at the end. Longer matches will tend to favor the team that brings long term damage output like the mass drivers and ocellos were. I'm willing to bet that conquest will bring a meta shift towards resource efficiency and sustained firepower rather than missiles and rockets with their burst damage.

I agree in some sense. OSP have access to weapons and strategies that simply can not be countered by ANS. Their Mass Drivers and rocket-shuttles, as well as the shuttle's backcap capability, are threats ANS simply does not have a way to fight against

​@sanctus864 I disagree. Though the ANS did infact have missiles (which, in itself is uncommon), missiles did not make up the majority of the team. OSP's backcapping and Mass Drivers are what decided the match, not ANS's supposed laxk of Frontline

5:17 only aux steering? Don’t aux steering’s and basic CICs cost the same? Aux steerings just don’t suffer from compounding costs.

Yes but it suffers from a lot of draw backs compared to a CIC. Good redundancy on a larger ship though I think in this case the player was simply using it to cap and nothing else.
