Great tips there, also here are some from me. 1) Overclocking is a thing, however at the early game try to downclock stuff. It has exponential power decrease, and will be way easier to increase production later. 2 smelters at 50% use less power then one smelter. You have a pure node and only 60/min belt? Set 8 smelters to produce 7.5 ingots each (25%). That will not only make them use almost no power, but when you get 120/min belt you can set them to 50%, and with 270/min belt to 100%. 2) Use "N". It lets you find a recipe to build an item, same as it gives you access to unlocked alternative recipes you have! No need to build machines to check them any more. "N" also works as calculator. Type: 240/8+15 and no more Alt-Tabbing =) 3) You can jump out of car just before it lands to avoid getting damage... Saved me soooo many times. (it works with factory carts too. So you can use those for "leap of faith")

What he says here is completely correct, overclocking your machines is a convenient shortcut/cheat to boost production temporarily but any situation you're tempted to overclock will almost invariably be better long term to just build more production machines and tune them with underclocking. The energy consumption is overall lower and your factory gets that much cooler looking with multiple machines running for less total power than 1 super charged machine. Always build at least 50% more than you think you need on paper and just run them slower

One very good tip for energy: While you're on your way getting to coal generators: Finish the "Alien Organs" research in the M.A.M. But prioritize the "organic properties" path. With this, you can make 200 Biomass out of 1 Alien Organ. I wish I knew this earlier, but yeah, for everyone who's struggling with finding plants and falling trees (especially in the desert area), this is a must do before having access to coal generators.

One important thing to mention with Satisfactory, is that new players should not be afraid to try different setups and styles of building machinery. This game is very beginner-friendly (as well as veteran-friendly), and you can't really do anything "wrong"... build a mess or build with style, the factory will still produce. Every recipe is intutive and easy to remember, and nothing is too complicated to make the game annoying. The player choose the difficulty. You can calculate every little production line with perfection if you want, or you can just create a huge spaghetti-mess... that's up to you, and the game lets you do it. That is why it's so addictive and fun. The feeling of freedom and satisfaction from your own creations, truly gets to you in this game. This is a perfect recipe for a good game. The player's learning curve comes from their own faults and successes. - It's not the game that limits the player.
@MichaelPohoreski4 жыл бұрын
That's the strength of user-driven narrative instead of a forced, artificial, myopic designer-driven narrative. :-) i.e. Sandbox game. YOU decide at the pace you wish to proceed at. It is empowering the user to experiment: build, observe, optimize, and repeat. Technically, _Satisfactory_ isn't even a game -- since there is no hard win or hard loses -- but damn, who knew "just playing" was so damn addicting!

My tips: - When you go exploring, build a hypertube and power poles on your way. Yes you'll have to return to your base for materials every now and then but it'll only take a little time - and it'll only take a little time to get back where you died. - You forgot that pressing Ctrl also builds additional buildings aligned with the initial building, so you can build a whole aligned row of constructors or refineries with just ctrl + clicking. Although for refineries I found that there might be some issues on certain tight pipe connections. - Stacking mergers/splitters up from foundation level is in my opinion much more powerful approach to getting nicely aligned belt systems. Build a stack, then dismantle any that you don't need. - Crouch sliding not only allows you to jump higher, it also allows you to run faster. Or rather, the jump is faster than running speed. Especially when using blade runners. Just chain your jumps and make sure you don't bump into anything. - There's a control "Hold to run" that, if you switch it off, changes the Run key (shift) to toggle.
@raz15724 жыл бұрын
I had to come back to this to thank you. The crouch sliding movement improves the gameplay so much; best tip by far!

I'm almost 500 hours in, and I only knew about half of these (that ctrl/shift click item swapping is something I've wished for multiple times, and had no idea it was already implemented). A couple more worth mentioning: 1) When you're placing some things (I've used it with belts, foundations, and walls), you can hold down E to bring up a little selection wheel that lets you easily swap to other things in the same category. 2) You can work on multiple milestones at the same time - switch between them as you add the items, and then once you've added everything you want, you can hit the big red button for each of them without having to wait for the countdown between each one.

One thing I figured out last night was even though sometimes you cannot get a precise output per minute you want because its not an integer value, if you do the math usually you can via a combination of 2 or more machines get them to combine to exactly what you want. Example, you want 3 machines to output 15 ppm but the output is rounded to 4.95 or 5.1 (not 5 exactly) but 4.95 + 4.95 + 5.1 = 15.0 so you can get it perfect.

9:28 and if the miner is in the boonies the AWESOME sink keeps it running and then just have a minimum of 5 foundations at the site of the miner (see the tip about being able to place foundations under the miner) to keep any hostile mobs killed near the site from respawning (spawn is only suspended if the mob was killed at least once, at least one building is powered and running, and in proximity to 5 or more other buildings [that don't need to be powered thus includes foundations, but not power poles]). This setup may be revised in Update 3 to pass through a smart splitter with the lane going to the AWESOME sink set as overflow and the others set to pass normally (maybe to a storage or later the factory when those resources are needed). The sink will then only take the resources not being used.

You can also delete the conveyer poles after setting up the belts, to save resources and space underneath. What I also like to do is put a high foundation and put the splitters / merges on top and then delete the foundation so you always have a nice path to walk in your base. With the splitters floating over your head and blocking no space.

Just surviving the first Ram Hog trying to get my first few crumbs of iron, had me dizzy and respawning 3 times. 2 hours in I find out(thanks to the interweb) that some plants heal. These games and their lack of tutorials these days, have no real care for the casual player. Sigh....I think the main thing these Ytuber Satisfactory folks should tell you is you need to just move through as many upgrades with as little building as possible. Build up the tech and supplies. Then sandbox with all of your goodies and see how to connect and build. Otherwise you'll be rebuilding your setup over and over again and again...Running here n there, dieing a couple more times just to set up your first conveyor. Which didn't do me any good btw. This game can sometimes be called SATIS-FRUSTRATING. Almost an oxymoron. Example: One Ytuber (self proclaimed expert) said you can use the portable miner or setup a few smelters. He even shows us he's placing smelters on top of the ore deposits. So I did that, after running around getting enough materials to make 3 smelters. They just sat there. WELL OF COURSE......he should of showed us that at upgrade 4 you get Miner MK1, not smelters. Space Engineers isn't any better with their little to no teachings. OIY!!!

Ingots are then belted into a "central factory location". *The "Central Factory Location" uses a "Main BUS" design where like materials are gathered together and put into storage bins. This is done on the "ground floor" of the factory. If you aren't sure what a "Main BUS" is... look it up in relation to "Factorio". I like doing it because it's easier for the next step. *My second floor up takes those materials and uses "constructors" on them. If I can change 1 item into another 1 item, it is done on this floor. Each item is again gathered into "storage bins" for saving (and in case I need to manually construct something like buildings). The "Main BUS" design on this floor before the storage containers now emphasizes "materials I will combine on the next floor". *I transport materials up to the third floor where I now combine two materials to make 1 item. My factory, at this point, looks like an "inverted pyramid" with the third floor being the largest to accommodate all the new lines of items I'm constructing. My Space Elevator is also on this floor and "walled in". There is a specific "wing" of this factory floor that is dedicated 100% to building Elevator Components and I dedicate minimal resources to this task (since it will take me longer to get through each Tier than it would to gather the resources even at very long wait times). Once items are constructed (other than Space Elevator parts), I put them into Storage Containers as well and construct the next leg of the "Main BUS". This stage isn't done yet, but will be the same as the last, where I put items "near" each other that will be combined into the big 4-item units. I am also constructing the next level of this factory to make room for the massive machines and amount of belting I will need to do. *Each "Floor" is roughly 3 "walls" high. About 24 meters or so. I typically use ramps to get between them, but use the belt lifts between floors. Most factory machines will fit inside this 24 meter room height, though it would be nice if you could stack 3 regular storage containers on top of each other (I just use the Industrial ones now). *Coal powered structures are jammed side-by-side near a water source where coal is belted into them. I have a very compact design on the "second floor" for these. Jam 3 power shards into any water pump you have so that you can fill 6 coal power plants all at once with enough water (they drink water MUCH FASTER than they eat coal. You need max water output to generate as much power as possible). Take any remaining power shards and jam them into your coal plants to maximize output. You are going to want it for the amount of machines you'll be powering in order to make everything. I also walled these into an area so they don't "overlap" anything in my factory. They're going to cut into future "floors", but placing them on Foundations means they'll at least all be "level". *Generally speaking, you want to "get off the ground" as quickly as possible. The ground makes your factory a mess and you want it as organized as possible for traversal as well as efficiency. As soon as I could, I built in a canyon and put most of my factory in the air over it, by putting it on Foundations. The only stuff that exists "off foundations" now is just my Miners/smelters/refiners that aren't anywhere near the main factory. *As you build vertically, you're going to just want to use ramps. You'll need two sets. The largest ones for you, so you travel up a floor as quickly as possible. The very short ramps, you'll want for driving vehicles (vehicles do better when the slopes aren't so steep). Try to avoid the stairwells options as they're a pain and take far longer to build and traverse than a simple ramp. *If you've built up off the ground a bit pretty early (and you SHOULD!), build foundations out to whatever it is you're hunting for in terms of ore. There's a couple reasons for this. The first is that it allows you to avoid any and all combat and terrain as you find the resource. The second is that it's much easier to maximize power pole distance and connections on flat Foundations than trying to weave it amongst all the stupid trees and hills and cliffs. You can also pull the resource back on this foundation far up in the air and integrate it much easier into your factory when you're done. I'm using my "third floor" for these "sky bridges", but you may want to go up as high as 5 floors (at least if you're using my height as the example) just so you'll be able to clear pretty much any vertical terrain obstacle. It will be, however, difficult to "get down" from up there down to the resource node once you're there... But, that's a good problem to have, and one solved by just playing with foundations and ramps. It's also easier to be up high so you can shoot the critters guarding the nodes where you're coming down at. *Try not to pipe liquids up floors if possible. Having to slap pumps onto the pipe that eat power and require a power pole connection just to get liquid up a floor is kind of a waste. It's far often better, if you really have to get liquid up several hundred meters in the air.... to just package it into a container that can be jammed onto a belt and transported to the location before "unpacking" it right outside of what you need. You might need tech for that, though. Use pumps if you don't have tech... or locate what you need next to where you are gathering the liquid to avoid pumping the liquid all over the place. *Unlock wall mounted conveyers as quickly as possible. These keep your walk areas clean and allows you to "build in the air" much easier.

Shawn Ramsey The _exception_ for ore being turned into ingots is _Steel Ingots_ which needs (Raw) Iron Ore + (Raw) Coal. Also try to unlock the _Solid Steel Ignot (alt.)_ recipe which saves on coal use and _doesn't_ need raw iron -- it uses Iron Ingots instead. (Might to re-roll hard drive scans, via reloading, if you want to speed up unlocking this though.) (Steel marks the transition from early game to mid game.)

1. Using the hotbar was already essential to me, though I still sometimes forget about the additional ones. 2. Knew upgrading already. 3. I actually didn't know about the tilting of pipes, that would have been useful in some scenarios instead of having to build wall attachments for that. What is missing is the mention of stacking Splitters and Mergers, that can be really useful to save horizontal space. By that I also mean that you could stack them and lead one into one above, creating more exits or merging more, though you need to be aware of how the throughput is distributed. 4. Didn't know about the radial menu for pipes. 5. Regarding the foundations, I did find it irritating to have open spaces because of miners and never realized that you could build them on top of foundations. 6. Didn't know about the automatic manual mining, though instead I usually just make several portable miners which are also faster in a greater number. Those are also good to have after a miner is already placed to have some spare to use in manual crafting if you need it or temporarily overcome the limited output. 7. Regarding the ladders, I have no idea why I haven't come up with that yet. I already use them in the factory, whether they are useful (especially with pipes since they are on the ground) or just could be. Since I already take resources for walkways and foundations this would make it much easier to traverse vertical distances opposed to using walkways which are better for horizontal or diagonal distances. 8. Knew the importance of coal generators already. It really takes the load off of having to farm biomass to be able to automate things, which overall still isn't a true automation. 9. Players who explore and check the research should know this already. Regarding overclocking miners, that is only true to some extent since maxing it doesn't give any benefits if the belt mark isn't good enough to support the output (though this already gets mentioned in the video). 10. Bless you for that finding, it sure was a hassle to fine tune the clockspeed and the output by using the slider. 11. A given if you know you could die and don't want to traverse longer distances (especially heights) by foot. 12. It took me some time to figure out the multidelete by myself while playing. 13. Is shown as a tooltip together with other keybinds so I already knew copy+paste. 14. An alternative to using excess production for the sink, so it just depends whether you can afford to sink them or not. 15. Inventory tricks are almost a given if you compare it with other games which also have it. 16. Knew this already, though I sometimes forget to utilize it. 17. If you advance through the tiers then at some point it will be necessary to acquire those resources anyway, but I agree that it is good to explore much earlier since you can already utilize them with research before that, some of which can be really important to make things easier (especially in terms of exploration and combat). 18. Sometimes forget about the sliding, though I also like to build ladders. But I didn't know about the increased jump height. 19. Well, I just fight them, if anything I just try later with better equipment xD 20. For those who like spoilers I guess. Or for its other uses. Extra: You are already showing it, but for those who want some fun, making hypertube cannons can save quite some time to traverse long distances. Though you have to be careful to not overshoot (for instance, starting in the north of the Dune Desert you can reach out of bounds beyond the Grass Fields), but that issue can be overcome if you just use parachutes, which in my opinion are better since you can also aim for a specific location more accurately while high in the air. To be precise, this is actually what made parachutes useful to me (besides landing safely). A tip for building these cannons, you don't need extreme heights to reach extreme distances, you can reach higher speeds if you place several hypertubes behind each other, going from one entrance to one exit into the next entrance, with the last exit being tilted up to shoot into the air.

Tip 7 bis: use industrial storages instead. Faster, safer (especially if you find an hostile guy on top). Very important extra tip: if you want to unlock technologies faster, search crash sites because there are often advanced materials to loot that you can't even produce like computers, heavy modular frames and so on.

Best tips: MMB for copy paste, multiple shortcut bars, N for calculation. I had made a spreadsheet full of all the values and conversion rates because I didn't know about N. I also thought the shortcut wheel was some kind of meter, on "1" because I hadn't achieved some required goal. My tip: *Leave Extra Room.* I did a spaghetti bowl and hated it. Tore it apart, rebuilt....and it's still too close together. I'd say plan to have double or triple the machines you are installing at the moment. When your extraction speed doubles, you have double the ingots, it's nice to have leftover space to double your constructors.

might be of note that splitters can be lined up with conveyer lifts a bit easier by making one extra splitter/merger for spacing, so if you want the lift to move up one notch you will need a 3 stack of splitters, for 2 notches you need a 5 stack, etc, afterward you can delete the middle ones to reclaim resources

Note that you have to have all the goods needed to build when you upgrade. It doesn't "borrow" from the existing object. But when the build is complete, you get the goods back for the original item. Normally not a problem, but it means you have to carry around all the portable miners you need, and they don't stack.

I love the middle mouse button functionality to copy whatever buildable I'm looking at that I bound it to an easier to use side button of my mouse. I honestly use that button and E to get to any buildable I usually need rather than use my hotkeys. Makes it easier to build whole moving, also.

A tip that would allow the streamer at the end survive: Fall damage can at most take 95 out of your 100 health points. Meaning - heal up fully if you're going to work with heights, you'll survive the fall.

Depending on that height
@sharpfang2 жыл бұрын
@@oliviaolivia2362 No, the very point is not depending - damage scales with height up to certain point, then stops. You take the same 95 points whether you fall 200 meters or a kilometer.

Early game, if the resource node is far - like, a coal ore node - place a biofuel generator next to it, and downclock the generator so it generates barely enough electricity for the miner, no more. It now stays fueled for years.

I have a tip for you: when running conveyor belts over distances, use the support beams (coupon shop) placed vertically and the wall conveyor mount (coupon shop) placed one snap apart from each other. You can fit the belts closer together, scale it to whatever height you need, hang it from ceilings if you need to, angle it if you need to, etc., and it all looks clean, AND power poles fit snugly ontop of the beam. The only downside is this is for belts only, as there is no real way to easily snap pipes to the beams.

Not having to delete your conveyor belts to upgrade them was helpful. I've only been playing 3 days and haven't upgraded them cuz I couldn't be bothered to rebuild the whole lot lol.

Building an extractor on top of foundation ... This is a life saver! (now I just need to figure out fluids). BTW was playing with my friend and first time we got hyper tubes, he builds a cannon, then shoots himself into the ceiling of the skybox, and next attempt the wall. The latter he took a parachute, never got to use it
