Althohg I insanely admire Ammar Nakshawani's mind blowing and controversial lectures, I am dying to understand why he has heavy tattoos on his hands. will someone help me understand. I respect him but I doubt if tattoo may revoke ablution and ultimately will revoke our prayers.

A lot of our converts have tattoos. I myself have tattoos. Only Allah can decide, knowing our intention, whether or not he will accept or revoke our prayers.

tattoos are not haram ;) most maraja accept tattoos but I think most say its makrooh but as someone else mentioned that you could be a revert or as an example I could of been a bit of a rebel in my younger years when I got a tattoo but later on found the right path.... not saying I or he was like that but that is one example of many. but in any case its ok to have tattoos. sayid Sistani as one of the maraja says: "It is not haram, nor is it najis, and it does not invalidate prayers." markrooh in the sense of what people might perceive of you if its not accepted in your country/culture. like in the uk its more associated with lower class but perception of that view over the years has changed on the view of tattoos.
