Crazy thing is there's probably another 10+ donks out there grinding constantly who have grown up in a world where e-Sports is actually lucrative now. Before that it was all traditional sports. Before players would have to fight to practice or to get parental approval to play or attend tournaments etc, guys like coldzera struggled with that etc if you watched the old documentaries before the old majors. Now we have kids younger than CS itself coming through already with tens of thousands of hours. Like Kyou on Spirit academy or Jimpphat. I haven't supported a team since prime Astralis but I do like pro-CS and appreciate all these new players coming through. Almost makes me wish talent scouting was a thing because I'm past competing, but I like the community and seeing new talent thrive.

Of course there's examples of the contrary, like Bobby Fischer in Chess who had a short peak, or young players in Football who fade out, but that wasn't the point you were making. And I don't buy eSports being somehow different from every other competition ever. Even youth/reaction time is overblown considering fighter pilots and F1 drivers exist, and they aren't young. Atm it's just a brand new sport with the technology to play only existing for a couple decades and only now is it moving from a hobby kids are good at to a real competition. I wouldn't be shocked to see eSports players coming through at 16-18 and playing till 30-35 with long careers being way more common once more structure/professionalism/money is invested.
