20 Tips how to Paul in Tekken 7 - tutorial setups & combos

Hi everyone, this is a Tekken 7 tutorial I have been working on during the last 2 weeks. Since the release of Tekken 7 I have been hitting the lab & grinding games with Paul and Law. Great video! Something you might want to add is using sidestep 3 as it is not launch punishable and gives you a guaranteed b+1,2 on counterhit. Also how you can do f,f+2 from a crouching position by inputing d/f+2

rapid fire smasher at 2:50 is whiff punishable when ducked. substitute 3 2 1 with 3 2 3. and slightly delay the last 3 for an easy stun.

the ff 2 thing isnt much of a thing cause a good player would fuzzy gaurd into a low parry

I have only went into lab with Paul and Law so far while testing Akuma for a few games. But Bryan is def. one of those characters I am actually interested in playing, so I will most likely upload some Bryan stuff in future. Thanks for watching & stay tuned.

cool video. My only concern is new players will see to do d+4 to demolition man setup and get it blocked and punished badly. THe hopkick and that are not moves you can do too much, because 1 block and you will get carried to the wall. Its not that fast, at least the d+4 so you can react to it

Your info on qcf+2 is a little risky. All Characters get a punish. Josie can launch punish it, I'm sure a few others can as well.

So this move is actually pretty bad if your opponent knows about it. Theres a mixup for it (which is qcb 3,2,3), but both can be countered by low parry or low blocking the last hit

i have managed to land a COUNTER HIT FUCKING RAGE DRIVE DEATHFIST and he goes wall splat and i go deathfist again. around 70 to 80 percent damage as long as i remember. thats insane

Good tips. But it'd be even more awesome if you can add Paul's weaknesses so everyone who wants to try him out knows what to watch out for. Like, for me, I find Paul have a pretty hard time when under pressure.

try to find some space to do power crush. if the enemy block it. go d1+2 or simply go back to defensive state again. dont forget you can sway 2 or sway 4.

Blond Bouya Paul is very hard to play. Death fist is launch punishable. D1,2 same thing. Shitty lows. And alot of his strings end with a high. Demo man requires very close range, works best with against a wall. In the beginning I was unstoppable with him. Now I eat shit

yes. definitely, paul can't be played like steve or hwoarang. in higher level, paul is more played like full punish and spacing character. he hits like truck but don't forget a truck must be patient

A lot of this doesn't apply to anything above light blue ranks tbh. Short combo into death fist is his best option unless you're near a wall, then qcf 1 should be used. And qcb 321 is SUPER unsafe, better off not finishing the string.

Notice, I am coming from the Street Fighter scene and this tutorial was made on the first 2 weeks ( 2 weeks of Paul experience ) after the release of Tekken 7. By now, 4 months later my Paul has improved quite a lot ( 4 months of Paul experience ) and if I ever would make a new Paul tutorial, there would be quite some stuff I would change. qcb3,2,1 is actually not very good because its never guaranteed even if qcb3 hits and the last hit can be ducked and fully punished. its better to just qcb3 and then WS3,2 or some other move.
