I grew up playing Alien Storm for the Genesis. I only recently found out that it was originally an arcade game. It's one of my all time favorites.

How was D&D Shadow of Mystaria underrated? I don't think I ever saw an unoccupied cab in any arcade I went to.

I've played all of these, at least half of them in co-op as well, and Violent Storm and Shock Troopers are the ones I'd recommend most. Cream of the crop in their respective genres, it's a shame they have to appear on an "underrated" list. Neither of them are "bullshit" in terms of coin munching, and can be learned to be beaten with even a single credit - way easier in Shock Trooper's case, Violent Storm will require a lot of practice, so you should probably aim for ~5 credits first. It sucks that most people don't try to learn Arcade games properly because they have infinite coins to put in with a button. When you don't care about dying or being careful, it's hard for the game to really shine. That is why you have to make your own rules for lives/continues, as if it were a console port. For example, I've been playing Raiden lately, only allowing myself 1 credit, and it kicks my ass. However, this way I actually keep returning to the game and bettering myself in it. If I just played it through with infinite credits, I wouldn't get much out of it and the experience would be forgettable.

@Marvelous Gamers In Armored Warriors, to get the full ending on the characters, you have to beat the game without continue.
