Hey Preston! I want to say THANK YOU! The work that you and Stig do through the Podcast, websites, and KZbin has given me the courage to go out and finally try to buy stocks. I feel a lot more informed and in control of my emotions. I didn't know the wealth of knowledge that you had on your Warren Buffet Books website till after clicking on the link in this video that took me to the calculator! Oh my gosh! You have everything written out! You have no idea how thankful I am that you did that. I've been replaying every thing in this video so many time (its late and a bit heavier than the other videos) that once I saw that you also had things written for me to read I felt obligated to say, "THANK YOU"! You guys are a HUGE blessing! My husband who is currently getting an MBA said he's learning more from you guys than his professors! Thank you isn't big enough to describe my gratefulness, but THANK YOU!

Hey Preston, I noticed that the market price of 1 share of SIRI was worth $0,01 back in 2010. According to my logic, isn't this the best time to buy this share? I mean the price can't get any lower, also you are able to buy over a thousand shares easily knowing that the market price might become $1,00 within the upcoming 3 years. Which leads to the obvious conclusion that your investment has grown by a 1000% in a 3 year time period. with kind regards, Kenan

Dear Preston, I have a question about your video "21. Warren Buffett Intrinsic Value Calculation - Rule 4". Reactions are disabled for that video so I ask it here. From 8:30 forward for 2003 the EPS is $1.50 of which $0.70 is added to the book value and $0.30 is payed in dividens. You say $0.50 disappears through the system in which the company is operating / the cracks of the system. How do I have to see this, where did it go? It can't just disappear right? It has to go somewhere. Thanks in advance

hi Preston, i have a question: What if you find a company where for example, the market price is 14.00$ and P/E ratio is 90.91$ more than market price. Is it a good deal? or i have to choose where the p/e ratio is always less than market price? thank you. regards
@matthewdustin73537 жыл бұрын
You want a PE ratio to be less than 15 if you're following Buffet's rules. That's the ratio of the price of the stock compared with how much it's earning per share. You cannot base the purchase of a stock off the P/E ratio alone.

Intrinsic value is based upon what earnings you are expecting in its future years as compared to the average government Bond rate. It basically says that you have to invest in that particular stock at its intrinsic value to receive the kind of returns you are expecting!

Has anyone else had difficulties finding stocks that have stable EPS/Book value/ROE/dividend/current ratio/debt to equity ratio? I feel like there's too many criterias to look at and there's not one good stock out there, even the best known companies don't show consistent growth. So far i've looked at 50+ stocks and I haven't found one that meets the required stable growth. Possibly the death of value investing? Seems unlikely that so many companies in the s&p show unconsistent growth/stability.

@YoNevNo7 жыл бұрын
When he says "the stock must be stable" he means the business. All the metrics that he showed here were regarding the specific financials of the company. Take Tesla for an example. They got an absolutely horrendous financials, but they stock price is sky high. That's because the investors buy with their emotions and inspiration from Elon Musk. I think this is basically what you mean and you already know this but the point is that Preston didn't really mean the stock literally, but more as a business.
