Wow dude, mad skills. the lighting (EL wire I assume?), the painting, and the diorama, stunning model. And pretty amazing video also. Thanks for making and sharing both. Gives me some ideas for mine if I ever get around to making it.

I had this model. I used the lightning as warp lighting projecting from my chaos sorcerer’s hand. It was a pretty nice conversion for a 12 year old. Kinda wish I had of used the model as intended.

Hahah would have loved to see that! I was dreaming of owning Warhammer at that age, I only had lord of the rings models.

@@McneillyCo I've had a long relationship with Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000. Never been able to collect and fully assemble an army though - either my friends leave the hobby or I get frustrated with the process. Trying again with T'au - incidentally, your T'au scheme is what I'll be following, though with a little addition. Thought the green would look nice as a base for a Deathworld Sept themed on Aussieland. Sept color is Genestealer Purple to try and get something jacaranda-esque in there.
@McneillyCo3 жыл бұрын
@@tjv2446 haha wow that actually sounds really sick, the jacaranda purples added such a cool idea, I’m similar with my friends I’ve convinced two of them to start Warhammer, but they haven’t done any painting so far that’s been over a year now, I’m pretty slack and still have no where near an army painted, but with the new killteam coming out I’m hoping that will help get my friends into it a bit easier haha. Also be sure to check out hungry_gnasher_the_kitbasher on Insta he has way better painted Tau then mine in a similar scheme.

@@McneillyCo Maybe hit me up for a game if you are in Brisbane. I’ve had models for a few years that I haven’t worked on because I’m a perfectionist and really dread my models sucking. Haven’t played a game of Warhammer or 40k since 2013… Will see if I can get rough models painted for a game.

I'm unsure if you're still around, but I really enjoy the quality of your vids and models. I did have 2 questions: 1) What's the end goal for weighing the primer ratios? Did you find a recipe that is perfect or is it something you've discovered on your own? 2) I've watched a few of your videos (the Tau are amazing too) - why wash the models pre-prime? Thanks!
@McneillyCo Жыл бұрын
Thanks yeah still around haha hopefully get back to regular uploads soon, yes I thin my primers down at a 1 to 1 ratio helps with the airbrush and last a bit longer, I weigh it so I can repeat the process when needed. also I read somewhere that the models could have oils and stuff from the factory and best to wash them first so It’s just something I’ve always done.

@@McneillyCo Thanks for the response. I hope to see more videos - the quality of video editing and your painting deserves recognition if that's a goal of yours.

what's harder? filming and editing or the actual project? its hard to tell lol
@McneillyCo3 жыл бұрын
Haha it’s hard to say, none of it is hard just time consuming, but if I had to pick one part it was gluing the final build fully completed to the base.

@UnderEmpty Excellent looking model! I just ordered this model and plan to do the power coupling with 4 strands of 1mm side glow fiber optics with a flickering pink and purple LED using Arduino to adjust the flicker rate and randomness. Question though, when you put your sprue parts in the little tackle box, how are you categorizing them? I always just left them on the sprue until I needed them but your way looks way better if I just get a handle on how you categorized them. I'm just afraid I'll lose track of what number they correspond with.
@McneillyCo2 жыл бұрын
@KGrant Hi there thank you! Sounds like it’ll look amazing, with the categorising I just tried to keep all the left engine parts to the left side of that box, and the right ones to the other, I was a little worried at first but the kit isn’t really to complicated, Be sure to ask any more questions if needed, would love to a photo when you’re all done.
