The motto of the 20th Anniversary highlights the fact that now, after so many noticeable achievements, we clearly see the winds of change blowing with unprecedented energy.
In this light, we have the responsibility to “Shape the Change” by turning “challenges” into “opportunities”.
Our History
NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Italy (NRDC-ITA) is an Italian led multinational Headquarters with an operational location in Ugo Mara barracks in Solbiate Olona, and an institutional one in Palazzo Cusani, Milan.
It is a high readiness HQ that can be quickly dispatched to command and control NATO troops on missions within or beyond the territory of NATO members States, for the collective defence of the Alliance.
NRDC-ITA was established in 2001 by the Italian Minister of Defence, when NATO created several rapidly deployable formations.
With the addition of Navy, Airforce and Military Police staff in 2015, the HQ was validated as a Joint HQ.
