I love WoW and don’t regret the last 20 years of my life. At work today, we talked about how being a nerd affected my life when I was young. Usually in a negative way. And my boss, being someone who doesn’t appreciate the nerd lifestyle, basically made fun of me at work. Bullies are everywhere but they’re just angry that we enjoy something so much and they’ll never understand that amount of happiness and connection we share.

I remember logging in at vanilla launch, and seeing the world completely new and unknown, ahh to experience that again… classic vanilla relaunch came within millimeters of that experience!!! WoW has been with me since 2006 and i still to this day from time to time play this game. I have a few really fun memories. In classic WoW i did alot of Scarlet Monastery to get the Scarlet armor set for my warrior, then one night when i was about to logg out my friend told me that the horde was attacking Darnassus. I was standing at the frotn gate waiting for them and my friend and guild mates rushed to deffend Darnassus. We arrived and at the front gate i saw an army of horde players attacking us. It was the first time i had ever seen such an epic battle. I stayed for an hour more killing hordes and got killed my self until they eventully won and left. It was really a one of a kind experiance at pvp and having my whole guild and a few friends there as well made the experiance alot more fun. Now in TBC i dont have alot of great memories cus all i did was levling up, did some Karazhan and waited for wrath to be released. It was a fun little expansion but nothing that comes to mind. In wrath doing the wrath gate scenario or grinding alot to get the red proto drake mount was fun but i think the most fun experiance was when i finally got the feeling how it was ro raid. Doing Naxxramas, doing Onyxias Lair to doing ICC. SUre i never got to beat Arthas but it was still fun to do. Cata i left after hitting 85 and then i came back in middle of MoP and continue my advanture and tried to raid and i got to experiance LFR and oh boy doing SoO in LFR was really hurrible at times. We wiped at Garrosh in phase 1 over 20 something times, had tanks and healer leave, got new ones and we wiped again and we ggot new players and it continue like that until we won. In the chat we laughed so much cus how stupid it felt that we could not go into phase 2. I did kill Garrosh in Heroic mode before WoD came out and it was a fun experiance to feel like i beat the end game. THe legendary cloak was also fun to do and made me like the lore and quest from time to time again. WoD...I got the full Tier 3 set for my hunter for only 130000 gold...i got alot of old school mounts like Invicible and ashes of al'ar...i got a few old school legendarys like Thunderfury...oh about WoD right it was bad and made me level alot of alts. Legion oh boy here we go boys my fav WoW expansion i think the best memoriess here are the raiding i did, the deducation i did for my Marksmanship hunter, the heavy grind for artifact powers and to experiance the solo challange i missed in classic WoW. you see i always wanted Rhok'delar sadly it got taken away from the game in Cata so i missed the opertunity to get it but Legion made is possible to get an updated version of it which i coudl not pass up. I grinded so much i got sick of the game and then when the mage towers finally arrived in Legion i tried it over and over again and even if i lost over 50 times i still wanted to complet it which i did but i was so close to lose but i did it and that feeling afterward was the best feeling i had ever felt in WoW. I still uses that updated rhok'delar bow as a transmog on my main hunter and with the updated tier 2 it just feels so old school yet so new and freash. BFA and Shadowlands sucks alot. Dragonflight was...an okey expansion i did not raid or anything challanging just playing the game, do some old raids go back and some LFR. Now here we are 20 years later i think if i coudl pick 3 best moments or memories i def would say completing my first Mage tower challange in Legion is my fav close with playing as a DK for the first time in Wrath and the 3rd and final is when the horde attacked Darnassus. WoW has never made me gain any friends but it has given me some great and fun memories that share from time to time with new players if they asked me how it was before Legion.

Been playing since 2009ish.... I was so young and naive lol. I've played every expansion launch since then. I've taken some small breaks because life is a thing :P but I always come back home lol

I remember back in BC era, I had a really friendly, casual group. We were losers that weren't Raid material, but we were legit hanging out in the open world all the time, helping eachother out and stuff. I had a Dreanei Warrior, protection spec and did Alchemy, with a racial heal, high defense, and potions, I was a BEAST in pvp. I always had friends to gang out with or help. Learned the Stance Dance to shake off fear and stuff. It was a great time. But it was also the saddest moment I had in WoW. 1 by 1, I saw members just disappearing, some were leaving the guild to try and find more serious players. Some just got kicked for not being on ever. My group just slowly faded to nothing till I was the only one left. We always assembled at Booty Bay, but no one else came, everyone was gone.

It's really no surprise that BFA and SL got so little attention lol. Those were a rough few years. Hell, Blizz only references the shadowlands when they absolutely need to. 😂

What is sad is that Systems brought those two xpacs down. Lore wise, content wise the xpacs were not that bad, but bad systems and story telling is what truly brought them down.

@@talisredstar1543I have to disagree BfA and SL didnt fail because of systems alone. The lore was butchered and unfortunately the damage is severe that the game cant recover from it (I enjoyed Dragonflight and TWW everything including lore). BfA ruined old gods lore and over decade of N'zoth build up and he ended up being vanquished by our kamehameha. And SL ruined Warcraft 3 lore and the Lich king and removed the mystick of death.

19 years for me for WoW. Sad I remember the day and time I started August 5th 2005 at 1:35pm lol so many wonderful memories I had in WoW I'll never forget the many friends I met and experiences I had from dungeons to raids over the years!

think i started playing at some point late 2006, after i got the 10 day free trial CD lol 2007-2009 were peak WoW years for me.. so many memories and nostalgia.. 'specially when it came to world pvp Lightninghoof was my OG stomping ground at the time and it was a tightknit realm of cool folks. so many famous names you knew and people with renown all made it so fun to be a part of as you're just this low level nothing constantly looking up, at the armor some guy has or seeing someone do a cool ability that you know you're gonna get in 30 levels i was in 7th grade in 2007, and it took me MONTHSS to almost a year to get to level cap. MONTHS! it just goes to show you how much of the game actually felt like leveling and exploring the world.. heck that was the game and you knew like nothing! everything was mysterious there were no guides! i remember only using thottbot to look things up And then wrath came out. Omg. If everything up to that point wasn't good enough. everything about this viking xpac was perfect. loved every second of it and it was at a time in my life where it somehow matched everything i was going thru. all the people i knew were still there! just the scenery was different - it was mindblowing I remember having 3+ feet snow days and being off from school and just playing WoW and questing thru the borean tundra and watnot... always wanting the cool armor and swords and stuff i saw around me May I have that feeling one day again

I think this is IKedit. A lot of these also use assets and scenes from his remastered/remade trailers (Black Temple, Wrath Gate, Fall of the LK). I highly recommend checking him out, been a fan since he remade the Arthas vs. Illidan scene from Frozen Throne.

It’s such a shame modern WoW has lost me. Once Classic came out in August 2019 I never really looked at Retail through the same lens. Looking back on it now I think Legion was the last time I truly loved Retail. I enjoyed some of BfA but everything since then has felt like the same game being released every two years with different themes. Defeating Argus just felt satisfying and lore wise I think that was when the game peaked. My hope for the future (aka tomorrows direct) is that Blizzard finds some pride again and goes back to doing quality releases. - We don’t need MoP Classic, and the very small crowd clamoring for it will abandon it within months like they did Cata. Just end progression servers and give thanks to those who supported that project for the past 5 years. - Re-invigorate the actual Classic player base and announce permanent Classic+ servers, fresh Era servers, or even TBC servers. That’s the content people actually want to play because it’s what the community believes is really the spirit of Classic. (Or shock the world and announce Classic remastered like TurtleWow is doing). - Make Retail coherent again. I think they’re doing this, but I’m not sure since I haven’t played any of TWW. But man you log in and there’s chromies sending you to different timelines, capital cities have like 5 stories going on, there’s portals everywhere. It’s honestly an absolute mess and the ironic part is most of Azeroth still hasn’t changed since Cata. I’ve really enjoyed Season of Discovery but it hasn’t really done enough in my opinion for them to take it and run with it for Classic+. There just needs to be way more new content there first. Excited for tomorrow but Blizz has a track record lately of being mundane.

I don't have as much of a connection as a lot of people do with WoW, I made an account during Warlords, leveled up to 20, then left until the final Legion update with Argus, but I still love this game. Yeah, BfA and Shadowlands sucked ass, but they were still part of the journey, and they made Dragonflight all the more amazing when we got it.
