I then upgraded the PSU which cost £35 and had to get an adapter cuz the motherboard had a proprietary 8-pin cable. That cost about £5. I had an old RX 460 from a defective computer (nothing was wrong with the GPU though). I then put that in and added 8GB of ram from that computer too. And finally I took a gamble with the graphics card which is a rx 470 that came from a mining rig. I cleaned it, changed thermal paste and flashed it with a standard bios and it runs fine and quietly. How you confirmed mothrtboard is working before buy it ???
@TheGhost-pr5nr5 жыл бұрын
You can ask but it really is when you get it when you know it works. If doesn't I think eBay covers you.
@hansbehrends4385 жыл бұрын
Buyers enjoy good protection on Ebay, it's harder for sellers to scam buyers than the other way around. I'd be more worried for a seller who flips PCs for a job.. Buyers try to scam sellers all the time, YT is full of videos about that stuff

Just wanted to say thanks for the great vid Matt. Have been using this to build my sons first gaming pc for christmas. Just one quick question, do you have a video detailing how you installed Windows 10 on the system plus downloading and installing the necessary drivers for the motherboard.
@maltomeal35 жыл бұрын
I've done several similar builds. A tip to do then cheaply and easily too is get the budget Intel branded h55 boards. They have very minimal settings in the bios but they are cheap, and with spending more on a x3470 to start at a higher frequency you can still overclock to the same level.

It's possible but it takes patience. Obviously his best find was the RX 280 for $50, that's a really good price, they go for closer to $70 on ebay. 280 is great but does require PSU with 550W or more and both an 8-pin and 6-pin connectors
@hansbehrends4385 жыл бұрын
I like this approach to super budget PC acquisition. But it takes patience. Obviously, going to pre-builts like Dell or HP get the job done fast. Dell 7010 (MT) with i5 or i7 Ivy bridge are surprisingly cheap, though you'll still need to swap the PSU to accomodate anything above 1050 ti/1650.. The build Matt is showcasing here is great value, about $100 cheaper than the Sandy/Ivy bridge pre-build route

I actually have a similar project going on although i went the Optiplex route. I looked around and found a local shop just giving away old systems because of certain components failure. I picked one up with 8 gb of ram and a i7 2600. I bought an ssd for it for $20 and a 430 watt PSU for another $20, right now im tryign to find a good deal for a used 1060 and i'm all set
@heyrellic5 жыл бұрын
@@thehenr I would but they go for $170 here on the used market and a 1060 goes for $115 for some retarded reason

Dude here at my location shops sells refurbish pc with core2duo and label it as a gaming pc. Ranging from 200usd to 250usd. Better off building myself a ryzen setup than buying that ripoff piece of shite.

Patient for weeks to buy yet 4 games benchmarked? Please include more in the future vids! Decent build, the GPU held you back. For new, budget minded, pc gamers 250 dollars is the sweetspot and RX 480/570 territory with everything else the same.
@DysphoricGaming5 жыл бұрын
I agree that 250 is the sweet spot for a gpu for new gamers but that wasn’t the point of the video. Some people out there want to get into pc gaming but don’t have the money to spend over this entire budget on one component.

My system was built using a mix of new and used parts. i5 2500: £50 16GB DDR3 RAM: £50 120GB SSD for Windows: £18 GTX1660 £200 2TB HDD: Free out of a broken PC 1TB HDD: £32 Intel DQ67SW: £30 AVP Vision LED Case: £34 Green LED CPU Cooler £10 Green LED Rear Case Fan £5 All in all for around £429 I have a system capable of running modern games at high settings at 60FPS, I'm thinking of upgrading to an i7 2600 though just for an extra bit of performance.

AMD Ryzen 2200g on a ASRock B450m pro 4 with 8gb of ram all inside the same case works pretty good with me it's under $200. And if you do what I did just buy a graphics card later it works really well. The graphics card I'm planning on getting is either an Sapphire RX 580 Nitro plus or the Sappu RX 590.

Hmm... I think a Dremel tool with a cutting disc + a sanding mandrel would have given you a better finish on that case cut... I think it's awesome that you had the guts to mod the case though! Most people won't even attempt that.
