Oooo liquid cooling. Took'em what, 30 years after the metrics, to get to liquid cooling? Better late than never.
@PaulSter
@PaulSter 6 күн бұрын
I'm not sure of the implication. Had H-D wanted to do liquid cooling sooner, they would have, but they knew customers would balk. The idea was to keep it as traditional as possible for as long as possible. Like many things with ICE, emissions reqs finally won out. However, you'll note how much the motor co is trying to conceal the radiator(s).

@ar2043
@ar2043 26 күн бұрын
Right? That's what really caught my eye!! The first thing I thought was "man that torque curve comes in early and rides it out". The second thing I was thinking is, "I wonder if most people realize that horsepower is great but it's the torque that you feel"?? The torque is what sets you back in the seat and wants to flip you off the back all while raising the front end. 😂😂😂 And hell, with a bike like that, the earlier it comes in the better if you ask me!!! All good stuff man!!!!
@user-xj5xp6qz5g
@user-xj5xp6qz5g 26 күн бұрын
@@ar2043 honestly i dont think a lot of people know that.. all the marketing constantly goes on about max hp. With a torque curve like this that bike would tear your arms out from idle and keep doing it till redline.

Did Harley beef up the primary drive/final drive? Always was the weak point.
@localenterprisebroadcastin5971
@localenterprisebroadcastin5971 26 күн бұрын
The answer is no…i had to retro all my Harley’s to dry primary with delcron case reinforcement…and when you step up the HP you should be swapin the oil pump drive gear too …no amount of balancing cancels the secondary forces so the oil pump drive gear starts to wear when the crank walks…Harley’s are awesome but they weren’t designed with “Big power “ in mind…true you can make them scream, but they wear out 3 times as fast and still can’t keep up with a stock MT09 😂

The more work you do to the engine the more unreliable the engine becomes! I can see if your racing the bike but for regular everyday ride stock is plenty of power with more reliability. All this becomes talk look how much I got in my bike look what I did to it look how much horsepower and torque it has yippee yay I’m broke and broken down. Would not be able to go to higher compression without liquid cooling it. They’re at their limits
