The opening interrogation scene really sets the tone for the entire movie. What is the difference between a machine and a human, a robot and a living being? I would argue that it's our ability to reject instructions and rules. I'm sure after Alan Turing was chemically castrated for the egregious crime of being gay, he really felt like he helped the "Goodguys" win the war. NPCs have always existed even before computers

it wasnt to make him trans, it was to squash the gay out of him - kinda like sending a gay kid to church camp. so in the case of chemical castration, instead of physically cutting off his balls, they doped him up with chemicals that fucked with his biochemistry and led to his suicide. nowadays we know the importance of hormone regulation and what a critical role testosterone plays in men's health and well-being, in both physical and mental capacities..... which means the british government is responsible for killing one of the greatest WW2 heroes, whom happens to be the father of the modern era built upon computers.
