I have never seen a dash flocked before. You guys did an amazing job. It looks outstanding.

Thank you! It was one of two options. The other option is to buy a dash carpet, but Kelly was really against that idea. Thanks for watching.

That interior is coming together nicely guys. The screw is accessable from the top of the door weather strip you just have to spread the channel to see it. It keeps the weather strip from folding over the edge when the door closes. I also tore a couple til I figured that out, lol. And I think it's just 2 bolts at the top of the steering column you're missing that bolts it to the bar in the dash. They go through the weird aluminum spacers. If you unbolted that before you unbolted the lower brackets at the pedals you may have bent the lower brackets out of shape. So you might have to force them back into shape to get everything lined up again. (That's also from personal experience)

Thanks TJ!! I just spent another hour or so getting the seats in and after a deep breath, the steering wheel went back in place without an issue. Thanks for the tip on the weather stripping!

That fuel pump should be ok. The bigger pumps (DW200 and up) don't run the rubber isolators. I'll DM you about the steering column since I'm not entirely sure what your issue is. Also that's the cleanest roll bar cut for the trim pieces I've ever seen. I'll have you come do mine when I put one in the K Swap.
@ExtremeDailyDrivers3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I thought that fuel pump was ok. It's rock solid. The issue people have when cutting the trim pieces is that they are using the wrong tool. Granted, my angle grinder with a cut off wheel did more melting than cutting, it's still the way to go. I read about a bunch of people using tin snips. Get out of here with that nonsense. Those don't even cut metal well!! Thanks for your help!

...yours truly!? That was funny! First off, hope all is ok with your neighbors, figure you guys must have a good relationship with them if you mention them, second, you guys got a lot done and man the Miata is looking damn spiffy! Kelly did a great job on the seats and the dash looks wicked good! Great stuff guys, and yes the XDD hat is badass!

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers ah, very cool. Good to know. I guess I'm more paranoid about such things since I live in a state where the roads get salted (sadly).

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Absolutely. I have one vehicle (a Mazda, but not a Miata) that isn't driven in Wintertime specifically because of that.

You should of taken the glass off with it and swapped it into your door and saved the weather strip
@ExtremeDailyDrivers3 жыл бұрын
It doesn't work that way, unfortunately. The good news is that you can still get the weather striping new from the dealer, but we don't want to do that until after the car is painted. Hope you are doing well, J.

buy a cheap dashcover off ebay, it will look nice and hide all your glue repairs!

Haha! We’ll see how this flocking holds up!
@ep91monster3 жыл бұрын
I'm a professional flockist. And that is most definitely NOT how you flock. All of these "diy" jobs with the brush on glue and flock applicators give the whole flock thing a terrible reputation for looking crap. You need to use an electrostatic HIGH kv applicator. Which puts out minimum of 30kv of voltage
@ExtremeDailyDrivers3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for tip, but it's not terrible. We used a flocking kit, and followed the directions. Thanks for watching.
@ep91monster3 жыл бұрын
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers might not look terrible on camera but it will in person! What you have done isn't even flocking. Flocking is the process of fibres being negatively charged and attracted to a grounded substrate, so that they stand on end. All you've done is puff fibres into glue. Its not flocking at all
