If Redmi adds NFC, fixes the audio, adds image stabilization on the front camera and allows for 4K/60 stabilized video on both the front and back camera, then the Redmi Note will become a very good phone. Maybe they'll do this for the Redmi Note 10 series, who knows.

For someone like me who has two "real" cameras, the premium for a high-end phone partly due to better camera is just not worth it, it just has to be "good enough" when I don't have a camera with me. This one is perfect in that regard. Personally, I'd be more interested to pay 50$ more for an Oled screen. I think the SOC is perfect for the price tag, 720g is really good.

Great review on the Note 9S. Those bugs you mentioned worry me a little bit. I hope the update fixed them so far. What's also worrying: Wifi! Some user complain about the connection or to be more precise, the stability of the connection.

I think that bug is present in every MIUI 11 Xiaomi devices, I encountered it a lot of times in my RedmiNote7 (maybe 5 times in its 8 months of existence) and there is one time I had to bring my unit to a technician to reflash my OS because I can't open my screen even if its still working fine underneath. So far I am still positive for the brand for what it is worth, premium build quality and superb hardware. There will be a gcam port for the 9s soon and it will surely unlock its potential, thanks for the review!

I happen to have an S10 and Note 9S and while samsung device launch prices are way too high (600$ is appropriate), the S10 destroys the Note in pretty much every aspect. The Note is a really nice phone for the money but if you compare the screens, camera and build quality the S10 always wins very clearly. Dont get me wrong. You dont need a pricey flagship. Its just that you may want one and its definitely not the same for more money.

At the beginning of the year, I bought a second-hand 9S which is 1.5 years old for $100, then a month ago I also bought a 1.5-year-old S20Fe 4G version second-hand for $200. The S20 is better than the S20FE, but your video was still helpful. The 9S is much better in terms of battery life, and the 20FE in other features, but I have no heart to part with the 9S either.

All of the "flaws" in the Redmi Note 9S aren't major downsides for me. For my taste, they're pretty much the same phone, and I'd feel like I'd be throwing away money if I bought the S20 for slight upgrades over the $200 9S. The 9S is my ideal phone. Edit: I also want to add that the Note 9S seems to be a better overall experience than the S20. Sure, the camera isn't good, stabilization isn't as smooth, but even the UI between the two. I'd say I prefer MIUI to OneUI. This is just personal preference and perspective. Even if I had $1,000, I'd still get the Redmi over the Samsung.

Redmi 9S camera is way below Galaxy S20 (front and rear). Sorry to say it but yes, the human eye can see it . Redmi: too blurry, lack of dynamic range, bad stabilization, pale skin tone, etc... Even the sound is bad compared to the S20. And I'm not a Samsung fan, I love cheaper chinese brands, but I have to admit we cannot get the same quality for $200. I've just bought a Realme 7 Pro for $320 it seems closer to the S20. Anyway, very good comparison, thumb up, thanks.
