The $2000 has a clearer louder sound in my opinion

I would prefer your Cordoba Soprano ukulele (which I believe is the 20SM,) because of a few Factors: -Price (A $1800 price difference is quite high) -Quality (Not as good but adequate for professional players) -Weight (I personally have one and the weight is similar to a Nerf Stryfe or a one full stocked one layer smiggle pencil case) -Color of wood (Mahogany Varnish is a very stunning color not that Koa Varnish is not beautiful but not as classic as mahogany gets) -Tone of playing chords (The same) -Clarity and loudness (As clear on both professional and beginner point of view and as loud) Seeing that the Factors of your Cordoba is Present in the kanilea there is no reason to get the kanilea over the cordoba. Only get if you want a the kanilea because you have the cordoba and if you have the money to spare. Over all on a ratio of 10 the kanilea would win if we weren't counting price, weight and sound. If we were counting other factors on a ratio scale it would be 6:10 to cordoba and kanilea respectively. Mind you, my hands around 7.3 inches long and about an inch long. Meaning they're pretty big. Yet even with the soprano Cordoba I can play the D chord pretty easily. So in my opinion the cordoba won. However this is my opinion NOT YOURS. Meaning if you disagree then do not get mad for every man has a right to state his opinion for as long as it won't harm a anther individual physically, emotionally or verbally. What I said will not hurt but will affect your opinion.

It's obvious that a $2000 Kanile'a will sound better than a $200 Cordoba. However, a lot depends on the player and the type of strings used, and the wood make up of each uke. I don't own a Kanile'a because I cannot afford one, but I sure would love to have one. I do have a Cordoba 20TM-CE strung with Worth Brown strings (Low G) and I would stack it up against pretty well any instrument because it sounds AWESOME! Also, as players progress they always want to get a better uke than the one they currently have and I suffer from UAD (Ukulele Acquisition Disease!) as I now have 9 ukuleles, including a Goldtone tenor banjo ukulele. BTW, your videos are great and fun to watch. I am NOT ashamed to say that this old guy (65 y.o.) has learned a couple of things from you so it just goes to show you that age doesn't matter as far as the ukulele goes (or for that matter ANY instrument) as music is timeless and ageless!!! Keep up the good work!!! And most of all keep having fun! UKE ON!!!!

Shaun Flynn I agree you can make a cigar guitar box sound great if you have the talent to strum the strings right. Peacoyt

The $1700 one was larger it seemed, so of course the sound would be larger and a bit clearer.

Emma F it's a kanilea, there's literally 1 shot on Oahu where I live and it's also in the area where Joseph Souza lives lol, I know him cuz he made my like with me, though it was 8500. IT WAS STILL WORTH IT lol. But yeah a kanilea for 2000 is a pretty fair deal coming from an islander like me yo. My 1st uke was a concert size kanilea btw and that 8500 one is my second. (FYI the specs are, a full Kia body, koa neck, Kia fret board and headstock, kamaka strings, it's an 8 string tenor size as well. And has a built in tuner. Any wayyyy. Do ur research b4 u come by with the thought of saying 2k not worth if for kanilea, no disrespect btw just want to support one of the most prized companies I purchase products from. Tank u brah

I have a Cordoba uke that also cost $200 which I got for my birthday. I personally love the sound of the $1700 one cause the sound is more crisp and loud.

The Kanile`a has a beautiful rich clear sound, the $200 Uke is a fine instrument and in a good players hands will sound great but the Kanile`a is just that step up into professional musicians instrument, my skill level I wouldn't buy one, I'd be afraid, one I could'nt do the instrument justice and two I'd feel abit pretentious, give me a few more years and I'd love one.
