This is a step by step tutorial on how to replace the fuel pump and fuel filter on 2000-2002 Mercedes CLK cars. It may work on other CLK's. This video is not intended to be a substitute for getting advice and help from an actual certified professional. I am merely showing how I fixed MY car. How YOU fix YOUR car is entirely your responsibility.

As strange as it might sound, Mercedes has always made good looking Coupe's in my opinion. And as a "first" wrencher on a merc, most bolts has some sort of thread lock, which keeps corrosion out. To a degree.:)

Yes, excellent how-to. I'll often throw a wheel and tire under there to catch the car if it falls, but my preferred go-to, if a wheel don't need to come off, is a few pieces of 2X8 fashioned into a ramp-stand. That thing looks like it scoots, and it sounds really good too.

I been driving with one hose loose from the fuel filter for god how long. I figured it must have been something else than the fuel in and return fuel hose since there is no leakage and the car drives fine... My mechanic who looked at it today didnt really know what hose it was and what the purpose of it is (he said it didnt hold any fuel so it shouldnt be fuel in / return fuel atleast) .... Which worries me because I thought he was atleast decent with cars Im not a big car person myself, but it was at my yearly road safety inspection (dont know what you call it in english, im from Sweden) and this was the first time I was told and realised one of the hoses wasnt attached to the filter. I was told it was "the hose that airs out the system" for a lack of better explanation.. And that I should fix it when I can. After driving the car to my mechanic I looked into things, and from what I understand the hose which is loose must be the hose which purpose is to control the fuel pressure? Is this correct? If this isnt working the fuel pressure gets too high and will sooner or later destroy the pump which in turn can destroy the motor/extremely vital parts??? I would really appreciate some help here. Just to clarify, i drive a Mercedes CLK 320 2001 model.... Im sure ive been driving with this hose off for atleast a year...

How I fix my car? Are you talking about the time I cut a hole in the floor of my old 1990 Corolla and used a rubber hose to replace a rusted leaking section of the fuel line? I only done that because the captured nut for one of the tank strap bolts broke loose and turned on me! Now I bust out the impact wrench for those types of fastener situations. Or were you referring to the '68 Cougar I built out of Bondo?

Another was "John Moorman what a great great guy, John Moorman the great Pontiac guy, between Main and Riverside on Shoup Mill Road what a place, John Moorman sells Pontiacs for much much less...John Moorman what a great great guy!" - I've heard that one used by another dealer in a different city.

I own a 2000 Clk 320... I changed the oil, bought a brand new Proper.Battery, and I replaced the fuel pump and Fuel filter all factory parts.... I bought the car for 5,000$. and so far have put in About 1'100$ worth of maintenance.. I like the car alot but man oh man... The cost of repairs...
