Buy a set of hog ring pliers for like $10, and a box of hog rings for a few bucks. They're basically a staple shaped like a C, and you bend them into a closed O with special pliers that hold them while you crush them closed. Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, etc. Probably any hardware store, upholstery material store, or maybe some automotive stores.
