Nice video. I knew the procedure but was unsure about the gasket. I remember my old Jeep was a nightmare to replace the thermostat. Those old Jeeps had a completely useless paper thin gasket. The good news is that if you needed a "coolant sprinkler", Jeeps can function as that. Nissan is way better. Thank God.

Rock on dude, keep up those B15 Videos! Also, there's a bleeder on that housing. My lower hose is cold after a radiator swap (maybe I'm just noticing) so off I go. I'm not too upset as I didn't remove the engine block drain plug, so I reckon it was only a partial coolant change anyway. UPDATE: No go on the thermostat replacement - the gasket completely melted the 15 yr. old therm. onto the housing (not the cover). Maybe I'll try to tear it apart with a pick, and then pry it out with a pliers.

That looked easy enough but you said put the pin in the same place but you just put in the re not where you took it out from.. does it not sit well if it's in the wrong spot?

use an air compressor to pop the broken dip stick out. connect the air to the valve cover ...has to be direct no PCV in the path of the air flow.

What's the best way to bleed the 2006 Nissan Sentra 2.5

I have a '05 1.8L and there is a bleeder screw on the thermostat cover - it's near the top one of the three bolts. Check to see if there is a screw that is clearly not for mounting purposes, that may be it.

Can I reuse the coolant I drained out?
@davidm32104 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't, but if things are that tight maybe filter it through an old t-shirt as you funnel in the coolant.

Nice video! So how do you replace the water control valve? I didn't know that was another thermostat. Is it directly behind the thermostat you just replaced? I replaced my thermostat but still no heat.

Pulled mine out no issue except for some coolant spilling onto the trans. The gasket was dry rotted the car was so neglected by the last owner 💀

The side of the thermostat with the spring goes toward the block in all cases.
