2000-2007 Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable- How to check proper operation of AC Heater Blend Door Actuator

I have the same car 3.5l sable. 2008 no heat concern. I shot the heater core hoses the temp in 120 out 77 but the actuator in the car is clicking. Could that be the cause of no heat? maybe the mixing door or should i have at least a 10 degree diff in and out at all times?Great video.
