Thanks for taking the time to do show this video. It was very helpful. I replaced a the stock stereo. Warning the GM stock stereo has a small antenna plug not the larger one so save yourself the time and buy the adapter online. If you have a large port on your newer stereo.

THANK YOU EVAN! I just replaced the junky stock AM/FM radio with a step up model Delco AM/FM radio cassette unit like the one you have there. Now, I can pop in my 'cassette-to-iPod converter' and play tunes from my 16Gig IPod Nano. I found the AM/FM cassette unit at Goodwill for $5 and have been wanting this is in for several months since I acquired the 2002 (work) van last March. It only has 95k miles on it and is running great. Now, my tunes will make it sound great during those long hours behind the wheel which can take me across two states. It only has a single speaker in each door, but at least I can listen to what I want. Thanks for the help!

what touch screen DVD did you get Evans? I have a custom chevy Astro Van which I posted on Astrovan.com. wondering the same thing about replacing the radio. I also, ran into a guy who builds custom mounts and redo the hold assembly to hold anything you buy, alittle costly for me, but that's the only way to get a 2 din system into this old van. In any event can you take a picture of the DVD you go and how it sit in your unit.

I saw your 2000 astro van Evan then as I was reading the comments, I saw that you replaced it with a 2-din radio? how is that possible as its only 1 din or 1.5 din. I had to use a 1 din flap dvd radio to replace the factory one., Can you tell what 2 din you used... If you still have that van, can you take a picture of the final installation.

Once I remove the stock 1.5 din AM/FM stereo Cassette player, I had to cut the plastic dash into a rectangle up to the heater and A/C controls and down to the top of the dog house. This allows you to squeeze in a 2 din unit. Measure carefully, but you should be able to get the room. I tried saving a little money and purchased a cheap Chinese made In-Dash 2 DIN touchscreen DVD Player from www.eachbuyer.com. It looks good mounted in the dash but is a piece of crap quality wise.

I replace my in-dash AM/FM stereo Cassette player with a In-Dash 2 DIN touchscreen GPS, bluetooth, DVD Player. You can mount a standard 2 DIN audio unit but you will need to cut out the plastic part of the dash a little. But it looks good.

I tried saving a little money and purchased a cheap Chinese made In-Dash 2 DIN touchscreen DVD Player from eachbuyer.com. It looks good mounted in the dash but is a piece of crap quality wise. Do yourself a favor and purchase a good quality unit.
