Once again your videos are outstanding!! I have no power to the pump relay. Tried jumping pin 87 and the red pin as u indicated and nothing. I will try pin 87 directly to the battery next. Hopefully I get the pump to run. Currently i have no fuel at rails. Which is the harnes at the fuel pump that provides power to it?? Theres two that sit on top of the fuel pump. I like to by pass that wire harnes snd see if I can run the pump directky from battery and maybe just hook up a swith to run it as a antitheft device. Im wondering if is something wring with the wiring harnesses that sit on top of fuel pump?? Any suggetions??

Most excellent video. Thank you! My 2003 intermittent issue was strange. The contacts underneath the relay in the below fuse box (where contact is made with the spade) had one or more that the relay spade was not making a good connection with. Solution that immediately worked for me was twisting the spade on the relay ever so slightly. Use needle nose pliers and grab the end of the spade. Twist it ever so slightly. Do that for all 4 spades or one at a time. This makes the relay go in a little tight but for me ensured excellent contact below the surface of the fuse box. Also key for me was the following. I went ahead and cut out the access panel that you see a lot of people do. This was excellent approach and I am so glad I did it. Took some time to do quality job but worth it. On pump MU2295 AC Delco - the connecting wire harness has 4 wires in a 2x2 pattern - two are for sensor level and will have a variable resistance (purple and black) as float moves. Two will be pump power - grey wire closest to the harness locking mechanism is the positive wire + and the opposite diagonal is the pump ground (-) wire. You can remove a little bit of the wire sheath just before the harness to make a multimeter contact point here for the + and - wires. That way you will definitely know whether it is a pump/harness issue or if it is upstream like in the pump relay. Check like he says the 20 amp PCM-B fuse which power the pump through the relay. Switch out relays with a know good one. Move relay or knock it some while installed. Contacts below might be issue like mine or relay might be stuck. Hope these tips help

My apologies not the two resistors The two fuses are still good and still no power going to pin 30 being jumped from pin 87.

The 4 small relays in the fusebox (including fuel pump relay) are all upsidedown from the factory. Flip them around for proper power supply and function.

So fuel pump relay in I get no power to the fuel pump & I also get no fuel pressure but when I just the pin connectors I hear the fuel pump engaging and the fuel pressure is there but when attempting to start the truck it turns on and right back off

@Dewitt Roberts ours wasn't the fuel pump running like we thought. It was something to do with the anti lock break. Found out by going under the vehicle and tracing the sound. Disconnecting it and the sound stopped. Weird huh. We haven't fixed it yet

@Dewitt Roberts I'm not sure what you're asking. It stopped the noise that we thought was the fuel.pump. Doesn't affect how the motor runs . We don't drive it m u have so we haven't replaced the anto brake thing underneath. As you can tell I wasn't part of the macanic work so I really don't know how to explain it correctly.

I have an 02 avalanche - same fuse configuration. It's been yard art since an accident in 08. decided to get it running, first need to get old gas out.....I tried jumping the two pins 30-87 using a heavy paper clip. within seconds the paper clip got red hot. So I don't want to try again until someone can tell me what's up. Don't know if I just need thicker gage, but before ruining something I was hoping someone could comment. Thanks in advance.

Trying to do same with an 04 suburban. To answer your question heat is a byproduct of conducting electricity, so that’s expected. To be safer use a small length of insulated wire to make the jump, like from an old lamp. Twist the strands tight so you can get them into the pin slots for a good connection.

I just replaced my fuel pump thinking that was the issue. And I've tried four different relays and nothing but when I cross the relay with a wire fuel pump comes on and I can start the truck. But putting a new relay in turning the ignition on the fuel pump doesn't come on.. 🤔 anybody know why?
