That's actually quite cool seeing you do that I did that three times down here in Florida already I can't remember where they get those intake manifold gaskets and what they're for but they don't like the rubber o-rings cuz they melt and weak when it gets hot on the heads...

@ 13.28 "common mod"? LOL!😂😂😂 That's one of the MOST rare intake manifolds in the world! Changing the length of the runner is going to change the rpm its tuned for....I'm sure that was anticipated. That 5.4 is already a badass! Ive always wanted to get my hands on one that was actually driven and driven hard. I was with FoMoCo for 17 years and I've always that it had lots of potential.

It's really easy to sit on my sofa with my coffee and pick apart stuff and there's no shortage of it going on across KZbin but saying that here's a couple thoughts, squaring up those runners accurately with grinder about impossible I was thinking a manual or pneumatic inline body sander would worked really good down near the runners it would take some finesse where there partially in the way or just put it on the mill. As far as the round bar as a bell mouth not a bad idea with some die grinder time I think it will work great, I was thinking another option if ya wanted to trick is some 3d printed bell mouths, high heat plastic is probably easiest to source and Gould be attached mechanically or an epoxy of sorts, 3d printed aluminum alloy would be possible I think. But for what's trying to be accomplished this seems to be the most practical way time and money wise. Can say Hacking up cobra R parts takes some bravery I'm pretty sure you don't go down to AutoZone and order up an extra... Kinda like guys taking terminators and modding the hell out of em, I don't think I could I'd probably keep a terminator original and build a replica out of a standard cobra to mod. If I had the option of buying a nice $45k terminator or a new 50k GT it would be a no brainer because new GT mustangs are awesome machines but are nothing special everywhere and will just depreciate a terminator will just go up in value and with just a pulley and tune you can be in the 500hp area and sn95s are lighter to start with. Cobra R is the holy Grail.

I think they were not going to grind it flat with an angle grinder or anything like that but with a _surface_ grinder, which is like a milling machine but with a grinding wheel instead of the milling head. Basically a crossfeed table beneath a grinding wheel. A highly precise piece of kit used by tool makers to get much closer tolerances than you can get with a regular mill. Though why that would be necessary for this intake I don't know. Squishing those O-Rings should be plenty to get it airtight, and the kind of precision needed to squish O-rings is of course not a problem for a regular mill.
