I want to know if it’s worth putting the money in to it, i mean the truck its in good shape body, no rust an i need a small pu to move stuff around cancyou also tell me what else i will need to replace? Water pump? Thanks for video !

WISH you had a shot from above or cameras on your head, my truck was in a shop 3 months and all the mech did was pull the upper intake off, got fed up with him & got a wrecker pull it out, now I will have to put it back together or sell it as is, BUT, I saved $1000.00 he was gonna charge me if he EVER finished it, thankfully I didn't have much $$ in it.

Any trick to installing the push rods? Or is it straight up ?
@sg42184 жыл бұрын
I saw you turn the crank. Was it so the push rods can be at their highest position?

Nope just drop them in, make sure they are in the lifters of course, turning the crank was to get it to top dead center.

Really good video. Doing this right now but I’m having the hardest time getting the gunk off cylinder block without fear of scratching the surface too harshly. I have been cleaning it with a razor blade and gasoline/parts cleaner/gasket remover for a week and it’s still has micro carbon caked up on there in spots. Your block looked a tad bit cleaner than mine so I will probably go off of that

Back in the same way you took them out, don’t need to do anything else, even if you did rotate the crank
@ryanswinney50267 ай бұрын
It's hydraulic lifters so reinstall them the exact way you took them out and tighten down rockers I would spin motor over just to make sure they appear to be working right but other than that nothing special that needs to be done!
@quintonhett52893 жыл бұрын
What was your torquing procedure for the rocker arms? Looks like you were rotating the crank so that you could torque each one with the lifter at its lowest spot/valve spring with lowest tension. Is that correct?
@radozeman3 жыл бұрын
Just torque them down, no procedure.

Critical question, about the valve lifter retainer setup on this motor. I cant use a lifter pulling tool because of this, now i have to pull the intake off and remove it to replace one bad lifter. this pisses me off. in your opinion can i just leave that crap off in case of a future bad lifter? I mean really, if a lifter popped out that means the push rod/rocker failed and its game over anyway right? you can see the retainer crap clearly at 1:56 holding the lifters

That may be true if it pops out, I don't know that I would try that though.
