Hopefully you enjoyed this video! Probably my most complex production yet. I'm open to all feedback, both positive and negative! Right in the middle of filming this video my front suspension blew out, so it took about a month to repair and consequently delayed this video. I did end up getting a new rear shock and new springs for the front so it isn't soft anymore.

I bought the L as I wanted more dirtbike than Adv. The Rally was about 2K more than the L where I am and that is crazy, as that's into the price of better-suited adv bikes at that point, as you note. I could alter the L in any way I wanted and come in at less than the price of a stock Rally. Overall, very happy with the L, with its light weight, torquey motor that just does everything. I've been riding thirty years but, this is my first off road bike so, I get to learn a whole new set of skills now. Old dog.

Hi, thanks for a great video. I've just bought a new Rally, here in the UK: the dealer told me the service interval, including oil change is 8000 miles, but you've just advised 4000 miles here.
@MustBePerfectForever Жыл бұрын
You are correct, Honda’s advertised oil change interval is every 8000 miles. I made a mistake. However, I do my oil every 1500 to 4000 miles depending on how I ride it. I would strictly suggest NEVER to go over 4000 miles. Thanks for watching!
@riggers7480 Жыл бұрын
I agree with you,@@MustBePerfectForever - 4000 miles on a bike like this is quite enough - I'll change mine at that interval. 👍

One thing rarely mentioned about this bike is that if you just adjust the preload on the rear shock you can correct the sag and add travel before bottoming out at the cost of a higher seat height.
@MustBePerfectForever9 ай бұрын
I maxxed out the settings on the stock rear shock but it barely helped.
@sebastiengreen15179 ай бұрын
@@MustBePerfectForever I did that also and it made the bike sit too high for me to be comfortable offroad so I back it up half way. I suppose you must have a longer inseam than me, I'm 30 inch.

I installed lower crash bars to mine, and they have saved my fairing. Additionally, crash bars designed for the lower portion of the bike also adds protection to the shift lever when the bike is laid down on its side.

Can you send me a link to what you got? I can't good crash bars... the mounting points don't seem that good on the ones I've seen.

Another comprehensive well-done review. That price over there is getting close to double the price here, shameful of those dealers. I kind of got away from this bike in my shopping mode just because of the seat height. As soon as the suspension is replaced to compensate for my 170lbns, I'd need a stepladder to get on it. Like all of us in the dreamer mode waiting for the RE 450 next week and still keeping the 411 in sight. I hear the price for 450 is killer, but just a rumor for now. Thanks for posting.

FYI I'm getting audio in both sides atm. But if you are having issues, it could have to do with having the second mic on but unused at the same time (if it's a dual mic st) or it can be a setting difference between mono and stereo; some mics have the opposite of intuitive setting.
@MustBePerfectForever Жыл бұрын
Thanks again for watching! Always makes me happy when you tune in. 450 is certainly a better size. As for the audio, it’s super confusing but I should have figured out in the coming videos.

Rally Raid Level 1 suspension retains stock height, although there is less sag with weight applied. The price evidently varies widely depending on what state you are in, I got my Rally 3 weeks ago for $6150 plus dealer fees and taxes...about $7100 in Indiana.

Don’t write it off your list , just get the lowered stock 300L version . The 300 LS You can buy aftermarket fairings and bigger tank to match the rally . They sell for same price as regular 300 L version.

The suspension is cheap, that is what makes it so cheap. But if honda would just increase the spring rate it would help alot without raising the price. Watch Itchy Boots, she has hone from south america to Alaska on it, then went to Morroco and was going thru Africa. But had to stop for the monsoon season and to get a break from the Malarya pills. Now she is testing the new RE Himalayan 452 in India
