refs bailing L.A. out in the end as usual. can't say I expect better from the NBA. it's a business. the most marketable teams/players are always chosen to be the victors.

i didnt see any bad calls, maybe except for the loose ball foul after davis rejected glen rices drive to the basket, and still questionable but other than that, the pacers got within 1 pt, they had a number of opportunities, then reggie miller feels the need to shoot a 35 foot 3pter with 30 seconds left? then they foul kobe (people think if your hand caught all ball, its not a foul, but some seem to forget that if your body makes a significant contact with the shooter, its a foul)... and if the most marketable are chosen to win, why didnt the 2004 lakers beat the pistons? oneal bryant malone and payton are surely more marketable than hamilton billups and wallace

BloodyandEnchained "people think if your hand caught all ball, its not a foul, but some seem to forget that if your body makes a significant contact with the shooter, its a foul" I guess the refs forgot that when Shaq fouled Steve Smith in game 7? lol. Ben Wallace was actually kinda marketable. but even so, there was no way the refs could get away with cheating the Lakers through the whole series.
@JSwanKilowJ8 жыл бұрын
BloodyandEnchained in 04, the Pistons defense was too dominant. they would've had to do too much to keep the Lakers in it. but also, that team was full of conflict, especially the Kobe rape trial thing. didn't have that same appeal at the time.

The Lakers once again get the benefit of questionable officiating..taking nothing away from their victory and title here, they earned it. But the only series they really didn't have trouble with that spring was with Phoenix in the conference semifinals..Sacramento took them to the limit, and they should have lost to Portland..even then..Indiana came damn close to forcing a seventh game in which we all know anything could happen. But Shaq was the world's best player in 1999-2000, and ultimately the Lakers were the best TEAM in the world. Whether legitimately or not is anyone's guess.

+Cat Aguirre The Blazers were the better teaam in 2000 they just lost focus in GM 7 of the WCF however the Lakers were the best team in 2001 by 2002 they had begun to show vulnerability an in 2003 the spurs beat them cause of that.

The people on here questioning the officiating during this game really sound ignorant. Here are 2 major key points to why Pacers lost Game 6 and not one of you can refute these statements. 1. Several key possessions the Pacers ran dumb offensive plays through players other than Reggie Miller or Jalen Rose. The shots these other players were taking were not shots you run late in the 4th quarter. 4th quarter is crunch time. 2. Indiana shot selection in the last 1:50 in game was terrible. Lakers were in foul trouble and Pacers instead settle for low percent shots. Championship teams execute down the stretch and Indiana did not do so. Although the Lakers did not make all of their shots down the stretch they were able to get the shots that they wanted to take and Indiana was forcing tough shots.
@razkable8 жыл бұрын
yet lakers fans claim the heat cheated lol thats funny
@deja.vunathan Жыл бұрын
Reggie Miller fan here - you are 100% right. Two possessions in a row, with the Pacers down 4 with about 2 minutes to play, they missed Reggie wide open for a 3 and instead took low percentage 2-pointers, both of which missed. Against a team as good as these Lakers, that is going to prove costly and this was no exception. Yes, there were 2 fouls called on the Pacers late in the game that probably should not have been called ... but the Pacers should never have been in that situation in the first place. I'm not gonna full on say the Pacers beat themselves, because the Lakers earned this championship as they were the better team. But those decisions and shot selections down the stretch certainly did not help them.

blazers blew game 7 by blowing a 15 point lead and missing 10 straight shots during that Lakers come back, Lakers only went to the line twice during that come back also and wallace missed two HUGE free throws down the stretch. Blazers lost, NO EXCUSES.

Stern is definitely one of the shadiest commissioners in sports. When a referee comes out and admits to rigging games, how do we know which games are legit? He implicated other ppl in his testimony.

That was a stupid three point attempt by Reggie with 35 seconds to go.
@BIGLARRY1007 жыл бұрын
StylistecS He shot it for a 2 for 1. Basically they were getting 1 possesion & the Lakers were getting 1 more unless the Pacers shot it in under 6 seconds. By shooting it quick he had a chance to tie & they still would get 1 full position. It did look like a terrible shot but he actually figured out the math in a time out prior.
