Me neither, but I definitely feel like I might’ve taken some of this stuff for granted as a kid. I remember a lot of it fondly and didn’t think I’d miss it so much when I’d get older. It was like having a natural high all the time. But regardless, I’m just glad it happened.

Exactly. Whe the internet and kids having flip phones was the craze. It was promoted for kids to be active and creative and stylish. I feel bad. 2010s - 2020 was when the good childhood experience ended and kids are just zombies to their phones now.

One of good parts about being born around 2000 is that while growing up you got the best of the 1990s stuff handed down to you from relatives or sold at a highly discounted price in yard sales. Also, being born around that time you got to experience the evolution of playgrounds from a first hand perspective.

Some 2000s kids felt the same way about missing out on the 90s, and some 90s kids probably felt the same way about missing out on the 80s, etc. If you could somehow "emigrate" to the 2000s and have that be your childhood, you'd eventually start thinking another time was really the best time to be a kid, because no matter what time is your time, it's a little unsatisfying because life's generally a little unsatisfying. In order to be truly happy, you'll have to let go of your illusions, and your apparent belief that you'd be happier in the past is one of them.

I had a blockbuster in my town, but my family always went to a place called “Movie Gallery.” I always got scared of the horror movie covers, but I was really scared of the disaster movies, mainly the volcano movies. I remember this hilariously shitty movie called “Disaster Zone : Volcano in NYC” and rented it cuz I thought it would be cool to watch. I didn’t even make it through the first 5 minutes, cuz when I saw lava leaking out of the wall of a sewer in one scene I was immediately traumatized for years and years on end.

I was born in 2008 and I remember my mum putting Bear in the Big Blue House on the TV when I was a baby, while I didn't watch it as much as In The Night Garden, it's still one of my favourite shows. Now I'm 14 and I'm turning 15 next year in July.
