To me, during this era. It was the last of when you could tell each car apart immediately. All the paint schemes now, are just a mix of white and yellow it seems. Maybe some of todays problem is how similar the different manufactures look, and, that the cars aren’t painted anymore. Just a vinyl wrap, which doesn’t pop as much.

Was in the stands overlooking turn 2 exit. This and the Coca Cola 600 from 1993 were two memories I’ll remember of dale Earnhardt sr. I was on the backstretch for that one on the little concrete steps right up along the fence with the cars passing not even feet away. Those were different times lol. Watched Sr. Come back from being, what, 3 laps down? And win. It’s just not the same since his death.

Actually I commented about dumbasses move on here before. He took Mark out, plain and simple. If you watch it when they show the replay, Eli Gold even says idiot tony took Mark out. tony forgot to go to his anger management class that day. As I said in my other comment, I knew he would hurt someone on a race track someday and he did.

Always a could've should've, and you can't say what ifs when you're talking the death of NASCAR's biggest star, but it sure would've been neat to see Jr's career trajectory in Cup had Sr been around for a bigger part of it. Not only the wisdom and tutelage from his dad on an ongoing basis trackswise, but DEI really had something special early on, and seemingly would've continued and only progressed with Sr's supervision, as Theresa ran that company into the ground. Really sad actually, as it seems Jr was well on his way to a championship(s), and should've done so with DEI for his whole career
