Extremely simple. Water+flour+fish fragments+spices. The choice of spices make a big difference. You can find many youtube videos giving the appropriate proportions of water/flour.

I guess it's similar to the French recipe. It's very simple to cook, the secret is the choice of spice and little vegetables you include in it. It's simply water+flour+fish fragments. There is very little labour required. I guess the guy buys 50kg of fish and mixes it with floor and spices at home in an industrial sized bucket and bags it.

Worked in a seafood place once and that goo stuff is the remains of all types of seafood mixed w/mayo, peppers,celery, onions and seasonings. They don't waste any remains...somehow it gets made into something.

There is 0% processed food in this. It's simply water+flour+fish fragments+spices. Then you deep fry it. You can vary fish quality. As it ends up broken, there is little incentive to buy full filets. But buying cheaper fish parts doesn't mean it's processed. At worse it's smoked fish, salted fish or frozen fish.
