Thank you for this video. For 6 years ive been swimming the lune from denny beck at halton down to skerton weir. I love the place and was curious about the history around it.

I was chatting to a lady, probably in her 70's, on Scale Hall Lane who told me that when they first moved into their house there, some fifty years before, they had a neighbour who could remember a ferry service across the Lune from the end of the road there. The bridge over the Lune for the Heysham Link must be one of the most pointless pieces of construction in history.
