{2000RPM} Metroline Wright Gemini 2 Volvo B9TL Voith ft. Downshifts & Redlines on Rail Replacement

It's been a little while since we've had a Voith B9TL feature on the channel as there ain't a lot of them in London! This video features countless downshifts followed by the gears holding up until 2000rpm! This isn't the proper redline, as these Volvo D9B engines spin up to 2300rpm, but that's as high as they all choose to rev! This batch as most familiar would know is limited to 39mph, which is only just enough for the bus to reach 4th gear after being forced to "Kickdown" in 3rd gear... unless on a gradient where it refuses to upshift into 4th 😂. You will find that happen once in this video! Majority-wise these native Euro 5 Voith B9TLs don't have the distinct whine... it's all really bass and grumble and they sound like your average B9TL unless you listen from the outside where you can hear it just a bit. But there are a couple anomalies...

@@Frozzles Not at all. The rail replacement service and the long distance between stops lends itself to thrashing the cobblers off the vehicle.

Nope, natively they’re all Euro 5 but yeah they were upgraded to Euro 6
